List Building-Set Your Mind or Give Up Right Now

Think about this: Energy is leverageable. Money is energy. Energy can be focused, transformed, and moved around. Wealthy people, people who make tons of money, are usually those who can manipulate energy to their needs.

You will need to bend energy to your will, if you want to make marketing work for you. You'll need to use time, energy, and effort toward list building, to build squeeze pages that will entice and attract people onto your list.

If you want to build a great list, a huge list, build the list building page first. Do a great job of that, and use as much energy as it takes to do it right. If you do that, and drive traffic to your list building page, your list will grow.

If you don't know HTML and think that you just can't handle it, I recommend that you get the trial version of Dreamweaver and read the tutorials. They'll have you building pages in no time.

But if you're hopeless with this technical stuff, find someone else to do it and pay them. If you aren't willing or don't have the time to use your energy to learn how to do things and you can't afford to pay people, don't try to make money with marketing at all. You have to have a very high level of commitment to succeed.

First, commit to list building. Commit to learning how to do things. If you want to work online, you have to have at lest rudimentary knowledge. Schedule it in! Make sure that you spend half your time learning and half of it in implementation. It's impossible to just jump into Internet marketing and think you'll make a million dollars overnight, without training or the proper business mindset, you're dreaming.

Learn all about list building and get that started first. The rest will follow.

Article Marketing vs Social Networking - Why Stumbleupon Traffic Makes Me Feel Unloved

Most affiliate marketers have experience it at least once. You go to check your site stats and notice that your site has gotten more than 5 times the amount of traffic you usually see in a month and all that brand new traffic has arrived TODAY. Your heart slams in your chest a little as you check the source and notice that it is StumbleUpon and all those crazed stumblers that have made your traffic go through the roof.

The problem is, and youll discover this the moment you start checking other stats, those Stumblers arent sticking around. The bounce rate nearly matches the incoming traffic and your Adsense account isnt exactly feeling the StumbleUpon love either. No one seems to be clicking on those juicy Adsense boxes at all. So you check your affiliate accounts. Affiliate earnings are better than Adsense money any day, right? Darn it! Those Stumblers arent buying anything either! What is wrong with these people?

Nothings wrong with them actually. Its just a different mindset and its common to all the social networks. Social networkers arent generally in a shopping mood when they are surfing Digg or Stumbleupon or Reddit. Theyre in the mood to be entertained and they want to be entertained quickly. So they move on from one site to the next, barely stopping to read what you have to say as they kill time looking for a fix to their boredom.

This is a whole lot different than what youll see when your article links are clicked. Your articles are usually found during a search at one of the big search engines. The reader is looking for something specific and theyve just found your article. If your article has managed to capture their interest and they actually click a link in your resource box, they are that much more likely to be interested in anything you might suggest for them to buy. Theyll also spend more time reading about the benefits and advantages of what you are selling so the bounce rate for article traffic is significantly lower than that social network traffic.

Sure, it often takes longer to see significant traffic from article marketing, but since that traffic also converts to paying customers at much higher rates than social network traffic, you need much less of it to fatten your wallet.

So stick to article marketing and leave the social network link baiting to the Flickrites and Youtubers. If you want to make money, slow and steady article writing wins the race.

Article Marketing & List Building - How to Build a Highly Qualified & Highly Responsive List of Gold

Article marketing is absolutely the best free way to build a highly responsive list. And it really only takes repeating five steps over and over again.

5 Steps to a List of Gold

Step 1 - Write a great quality article - When you write a great article giving good actionable information the reader is going to want more information and they are going to want it from you.

Step 2 - Your resource box - In your resource box invite the reader back to your web site or blog for more great information. Use words such as "And now I would like to invite you to..."

Step 3 - The trade - This is where the reader trades their email address for more good information from you. You must get over your concern about asking for the opt-in, because if a prospect is not going to give you their email address now they certainly are not going to give you their credit card later.

Step 4 - Follow up - Your future and your fortune are in the follow up. This is where most marketers drop the ball. Follow up with more good information before you ask for the sale.

Step 5 - TGC - TGC stands for Take Great Care of your list. We use strange words on the internet such as "traffic" and "lists." Both traffic and lists are made up of individual people with heads and hearts. Answer their questions. Ask them questions. Take great care of them and they will take great care of you.

And I'd like to invite you to use these five steps over and over again to build your list of gold with your articles.

Article Marketing - The Best Way To Build Quick Traffic!

Webmasters and affiliate marketers alike are interested in one thing, traffic. Relevant traffic is the blood of the internet and without it no sells, no ads, no internet! But what are the best methods to actually drive relevant traffic to your site? The methods are endless and the amount of traffic you can get through free tactics is pretty amazing. Here are a few of the top methods.

1- Article marketing is king of free traffic building. Easy and fun, if you like writing then this should be your main advertising method, if you can write and release an article every few days to ezine articles and other article directories you can keep a reasonable amount of traffic coming into your site. A good paid submission service to try is Isnare.com, its anywhere from $2-$.50 per submission deepening on how many credits you buy at a time.

2- Although I love free methods of traffic production I really have to give PPC credit where it deserves it. PPC through Google is really worth the price and when used properly with a good site it can turn a good 3-5% conversion rate, sometimes more. Use article marketing first then move to PPC!

3- Another method is forum participation with signatures and blogging. Find a good forum that is relevant to your website and get involved in the discussions. This is an excellent way to build links and get some traffic. Another way is build blogs, lots of them, put RSS feeds on all of them that update daily and link them to your site.

4- Another new method is video marketing. Youtube.com is a huge social website where simple, creative, relevant video can get you thousands of back links and millions of views. This method is a little more difficult to pull off and requires some video editing ability as well as a creative plot. Stupid videos seem to get a lot of traffic so if your website is a funny site then Youtube is prime. But Youtube can be very beneficial to affiliate sites as well

Traffic is key! These methods will help you build traffic, guaranteed. But whether these methods turn into sells is up to your website. Website copywriting is key but that's for another article. There are plenty of online programs that help you build traffic and give you many other tips and tricks, and a few who give you a free website. If you need help finding affiliate programs or help staying away from online scams give my website a look.

The Article Marketing Internet Cash Machine Plan!

Do you want to earn money on demand writing simple articles that sells? If yes, let's have a look at the whole marketing process behind this. You are going to discover why only a handful of savvy marketers earn a full time income writing articles.

It's a long process, but when you master each step, you are on the direct road to Internet success.

Savvy writers know that you need to use leverage to succeed. What does it mean? Please pay attention to the following sentence because this is the difference between a thousands of dollars in profits per month and failure.

Revealed: The biggest article marketing secret.

An article is not really an article.

An article is an agent working for you twenty four hours a day on complete autopilot because it will multiply.

From one article, you should be able to make a full product line in your niche market.

Here is how it works:

1. You write a single article, but with a different mindset. The goal of this single article is to create an outline for a more complex project.

Be sure to get every single aspect of the niche in the article. What these people want, what are their dreams and aspirations, what are their biggest frustrations.

Where do they meet and where they are going to solve their problems, etc...

When you gathered all the information you need, write this article. You are not going to write an essay here, but an outline with bullet points.

For now, do not add anything under each bullet. Just a sentence.

2. When the article is finished.

Take your first paragraphs and write about everything you think about (A brain dump).

Do the same thing for each paragraph and each bullet point. Repeat this process over and over. From one article, you should be able to get dozens of other related articles.

After a while, you will have articles on every single aspect of your niche market.

What's next?

It's time to add all these articles together and publish an short "loss leader" ebook to get customers into your marketing funnel.

What's next?

Take the same book, add more content and sell it on Amazon.com

This is only the beginning of the Internet cash machine money plan.

Article Marketing To Promote Your Work From Home Business

Blatant advertising is quickly becoming a dying art online as people are rejecting more and more the in your face advertising technique from online marketers. Unsolicited emails (spamming) has drastically cut the way bulk email spammers flood our inboxes with advertisings for almost any item in the world. Other forms of advertising like safelists, traffic exchanges and other forms of direct advertising are also having minimal effect when employed by an internet marketer.

In stark contrast article marketing has become the buzz as more marketers are inclined to use this method of advertising. No wonder web 2.0 technology was an instant success when introduced. Social bookmarking and networking was the fuel content marketing needed to push online advertising to the next level.

What does this mean for you...you must be able to put at least 250 words together to form sentences, then paragraphs and 'Eureka' you have an article. Note you don't have to be an English major to write effective article, as for me I always tell friends and colleagues that I write just like I would talk, I don't have a great command of the English language so definitely one cannot expect my article to make for perfect reading by the educated elite...but the main thing is my thoughts are been communicated effectively. Try to make your writing easily read, so even if you have excellent command of the English language, remember not all your readers will understand some of the "big words" you may use in your presentation. Just keep it simple.

Now you may ask the question "why article marketing"? but my answer would be "why not"? It is a fact that most people that enter a search term on a search engine is looking for information and article writing and by extension marketing will provide such information to satisfy the needs of the one seeking information, and yes if your information is packaged correctly you can gain a client/customer/team member.

So churn your work from home business into overdrive by utilizing article writing complimented by all the tools available in web 2.0. You will be surprised at what article writing will do for your Search Engine Optimization Marketing efforts.

Profitable Article Marketing - Announcing 5 High Powered Secrets to Explode Your Article Marketing

Article marketing isn't just about writing and distributing your articles online. If you would like to succeed in this technique, you must produce quality contents that are useful and relevant to your target niche. It is only through this that your articles will be picked up and republished by other webmasters and publishers.

1. Be productive. Article marketing will require you to write numerous articles for as long as you are running your online business. As such, you must be willing to produce quality articles on a regular basis to continuously improve the number of your links.

2. Sign up with article submission sites that have quick review and posting time. Don't waste your time with publishing sites that takes 3-4 weeks to publish your articles. By that time, your content is no longer timely. Stick with the ones that can post your articles within 24-72 hours just like ezinearticles dot com.

3. Your articles must be easy on the eyes. Lengthy, paragraph form articles that have little or no page break at all can easily turn your readers off. Make your articles readable by breaking your articles into short paragraphs and using bullet points whenever appropriate.

4. After you have submitted your articles, check to see if they are posted online after the review period has lapsed. Sometime, articles are not posted due to broken links, inappropriate content, keyword stuffing, and blatant advertisements. In these cases, you will be asked to re-write your articles so they will conform to the standards set by the publishing sites.

5. Track your progress. Make it a habit to check the click through rate of your articles online and your website traffic to see if there is a noticeable improvement on your numbers. You can use your findings in improving your article marketing techniques.

Order of Entry, Marketing Strategies, And Business Performance

Introduction

The first firm to enter the market for specific products or services, is commonly believed to accumulate a long-term competitive advantages. On the average, the first movers usually have high market shares than their early followers and turn have higher market share compared to the later entries (Miller, William, and Robert, 1989). On the contrary, if a late mover uses product/strategy innovation, it will have a chance to overtake the pioneer if the first mover makes mistakes (Carpenter and Nakamoto, 1989; Shankar, Carpenter, and Krisnamurthi, 1998).

Definitions

Order of entry is defined as the first time a business enters the market. The pioneer is categorized as a business that develops/creates products or services for the market as well as the one that introduces new technology, process, skills, and resources to the market.Early follower as the business that develops/creates the products or services after the pioneer firm.

The interaction effect between order of entry and breadth of product line strategy is found significant. Partial regression coefficient is .00961. The hypothesis (the extent of breadth of product line positively moderates the relationship between order of entry and market share) is accepted.

The interaction effect between order of entry and R&D strategy is found significant. Partial regression coefficient is 0... Thus, hypothesis (the extent of R&D positively moderates the relationship between order of entry and market share) is accepted.

Important Factors That Enhance The Value Of A Link

In-bound links are considered the most important of factors in making websites stand-out in the search engines. Why are links important? Any worthwhile SEO Company will tell you the value of links. But what we are attempting here is a study on ways to improve link value. As more the value of your links higher will be your link building campaigns success rate.

The factors which enhance link value:

Links Anchor Text: Links Anchor text plays a major role in website rankings. Always go for specific link anchor text as it enhances the rankings.

External links for page link: External links which are pointing to a document strongly affects the power and relevancy of those links that are carried out from one document to the other. Thats why this factor has significant influence on search engine rankings.

Text surrounding directly to link: This includes the list of links and the description about the linked document or website.

The other relevant factors:

Location of link page in website structure: The location of links has a great impact on search engine rankings. This effectively means that in the website structure if there is any link which is 4-5 level away from the home page then it is accorded comparatively less importance then the link associated with the home page.

Presence of No Follow tag: No follow tag is the indicator that the link to the tag applied is not vouched for by the creators of the site. It means that the link is not editorially approved and it may have been created by any site visitor or a computerized spam program.

Link page text: Good quality text on link page has a positive affect on text analysis and thats why it also becomes a determining factor affecting website ranking on search engines.

The factors mentioned above are not all-inclusive in nature, there are many more variables effecting link value, but the ones mentioned here are considered to as the most important ones.

Article Marketing - Learn How To Get So Much Traffic You Couldn't Stop It If You Tried Part II

How does all of this relate to article agents? I am glad you asked. Some articles you write will have amazing results, some will have terrible results, but most will be in the middle, and you will find that your ability to predict which is which will not be very accurate.

I have written articles that I have poured my heart into and just knew that they were going to be read and syndicated by everyone. Then I have written articles that just flowed out so easy my cooling fan on my laptop did not even get a chance to start, and I had the article done and off to be reviewed.

Do you think that the results were proportional to my efforts? If you said yes, you would be wrong. The results are just as unpredictable as trying to choose which sales rep in article one was going to be the best. You just can never tell.

After all of that, we can finally make one more important point and that is that your control over the results of any individual article agent is very little, but your control over the number of article agents is completely in your control.

Now that you have the understanding that most articles are going to fall somewhere in the middle and your ability to predict which is which is not going to be very good, you know that you can focus your energy on the one thing that you can control and that will have the greatest impact driving targeted prospects to your site. Write lots of articles.

How many? Somewhere between 30 and 300, the more you write the greater the results, and yes, the results are exponential. What does that mean? It means that if 5 articles will get 100 visitors, then 100 articles won't get you 2,000 but probably closer to 3,000 or more. They build momentum from each other.

The other day I heard someone say that after they published a certain number of articles, they could not turn the traffic off. I don't know about you, but I am dying to have that problem. I promise not to complain too much...lol

Article Marketing For Targeted Traffic Online

Article marketing has become one of my favorite forms of traffic generation, because of the targeted nature of the traffic it produces. You see, it is not extremely important to me to get tons of traffic, if that traffic is not targeted, and does not need what I have to offer.

When I first got started online, I used article marketing to generate search engine listing, and became very quickly number one for several different keywords.

The problem with those keywords, though, was that they were low volume keywords. My guess is that if they had been high volume keywords the strategy would be almost impossible. So the bottom line is, I wasnt getting traffic from those keywords. A little, but not enough to go full time online! And I needed a full time income online.

But the craziest thing happened I started testing groups of article directories, and finding that certain groups of directories pulled much higher responses like 100 times the response of other groups. So I continued breaking them down into smaller and smaller groups until I came up with like a big three and the results are phenomenal! I am getting as much response per article as I was submitting to 100 directories so I have been able to take that free time and put it to use writing more articles. I challenge you to do the same thing I think you will find that if you are only submitting to the big three that your article marketing efforts will be much increased! That is exactly what I do and I find that the targeted nature of the traffic makes it much more responsive.

Optimizing Your Site For Better Search Engine Ranking

SEO is the active practice of optimizing a web site by improving internal and external aspects in order to increase the traffic the site receives from search engines.

Search engine optimization is the process of improving the volume and quality of traffic to a web site from search engines via "natural" ("organic" or "algorithmic") search results for targeted keywords. As a marketing strategy for increasing a site's relevance, SEO considers how search algorithms work and what people search for. Another class of techniques, known as black hat or spamdexing, use methods such as link farms and keyword stuffing that tend to harm search engine user experience. Some search engines have also reached out to the industry, and are frequent sponsors and guests at SEO conferences and seminars.

Many SEOs and other agencies and consultants provide useful services for website owners, from writing copy to giving advice on site architecture and helping to find relevant directories to which a site can be submitted. You should never have to link to an searche engine. Avoid marketers that talk about the power of "free-for-all" links, link popularity schemes, or submitting your site to thousands of search engines. Some marketers may try to sell you the ability to type keywords directly into the browser address bar.

The objective of Search Engine Optimization is to increase web visitor counts by ranking very high in the organic results of searches using the most appropriate keywords describing the content of your site.

Search engine can also target different kinds of search, including image search, local search, and industry-specific vertical search engines. They look for sites that employ these techniques and may remove them from their indexes.

Webmasters and content providers began optimizing sites for search engines in the mid-1990s, as the first search engines were cataloging the early Web. Search Engine Marketing (SEM) involves a combination of free website submissions and paid search engine listings, to ensure your website reaches customers using search engines to research purchase decisions. Search engines work for you non-stop 24/7. The answer is entirely dependent upon your web site's visibility amongst the search engines. The goal of web optimization is to create consistent and targeted traffic through search engines and directories to your web site. Search engine optimization is not just to rank in search engines but mainly to achieve a good click through rate from the targeted visitors. This means that your web site should come up in the search results of the search-engines with targeted keywords that are related to your content or theme of your site. If your web pages are dynamically created from the database, it's likely that many search engines have difficulty to crawl and index them. Disadvantage of dynamically created pages are that many search engines like Google for example don't like dynamically created pages because the crawlers might get in an infinite loop on your server if they follow dynamically created web pages with a query string in it.

SEO helps to ensure that a site is accessible to a search engine and improves the chances that the site will be found by the search engine.

Article Marketing

Article Marketing for Targeted Traffic

You can promote the best products in the world but if people don't visit your website and see your reviews there is no way that you will make any sales. When there are so many other people out there competing, what strategies are available to drive targetted traffic to your site?

One of the best ways of driving free traffic to your website is by article marketing. Have a blog on your website and post articles there. Then submit these articles to other websites called article directories.

Three great article directories are

EzineArticles (generally considered the best of them all)

goarticles

associatedcontent

By writing articles about the product or service your website deal with and submitting them to highly ranked article directories you can send highly targetted traffic to your website for free. That's the great thing about article marketing, all it costs you is your time.

There is another benefit to article marketing, this is creating backlinks. The more backlinks you have from highly ranked sites means that search engines such as Google, MSN or Yahoo view your site as more important and give you a higher page ranking and the higher your page ranking the more visitors you will get to your site.

When you submit your article to an article directory for the first time you will be asked to fill out an 'Author's Resource Box.' This is where you get to write a brief description of yourself, and more importantly, a link to your website. This allows people who are already interested in what you have to offer to visit your.

Also, if the article is well written other bloggers in the same market as you may reproduce it on their websites but they are only allowed to do this by including your Author's Resource Box so this is another link to your site.

Another way to ensure your articles catch the attention of the search engines is to ensure that they are keyword rich.

If you are writing about sausage making equipment then this phrase needs to be in the first and last paragraphs of the article. In the first paragraph have the phrase in bold lettering and in the last paragraph have it in italics, this helps the Search Engines to recognise what the article is about. If possible, have the phrase as a clickable link to website of the product you are affiliated to (with your affiliate link, of course).

These are just some of the ways you can optimise your article for the search engines so that they list your site when people use the keywords or phrases that are in your article.

I will be covering Search Engine Optimisation in more depth in other articles but that, for now, is the basics of article marketing and how it can dirve targetted traffic to your website.

Article Marketing - Write Your Way Into Search Results - Traffic And $$$

In my regular scouring of the internet marketing do's and don'ts, I come across an endless sea of opinions, many of them contradictory of other opinions by internet marketers and gurus. You may have seen something like what I'm referring to. Some internet marketers will tell you "Adsense is dead", while others assure you that "There's still life in Adsense and other Pay Per Click programs!" One of the topics that has come to my attention recently is regarding the use of articles to raise the search ranking of your website and do some honest to goodness SEO (Search Engine Optimization).

There are several aspects to SEO, of course. This article takes a look at articles and how their content can be used to your advantage to build your website popularity.

One opinion I've seen time and time again that has been trumpeted by scores of marketers, and that has never been contested, is "search engines love content." I'll go a step further and say, "Search engines love original content."

If you want to see what I'm referring to, do a search under "article sites" and see how many directories you pull up. Article directories are out there in droves, keeping a large supply of articles that can be (and usually are) used by people publishing ezines or adding content to their sites. I've submitted articles to several of these sites for free. Here's why submitting articles is a win-win situation:

Win for you: You get to include a "resource box" with your article, which can be a link back to your website (or the affiliate site you are promoting)

Win for them: ezine publishers need to come up with articles every day/week/month. Webmasters want their proverbial "regularly updated content." Article directories give them the ammo they need to keep their updates regular and their content fresh.

Of course, this does mean you will need to write. If you like to write already, great - get started! If writing is about as fun for you as pulling your teeth with rusty jumper cables, all is not lost. My suggestion is to look at sites like Elance (www.elance.com) and look for writers on the topic you want to cover. Elance has a bidding system, which allows you to post a project for bids and let prospective writers bid on it. Once you have your article written, you will need to submit it. There is an endless array of article sites on the web. You can also take a shortcut by trying an article submission tool.

Something else to remember - SEO will take awhile. Even if you have submitted articles, you must give them time to make their way into the hands of those people who will publish them on sites and on the web.

How To Use Directories To Build Back Links Fast

It is a well known fact that building back links to your website is one of the most important elements of modern search engine optimization (SEO) of a website. a back link is a link from another website to yours.

Acquiring back links is one of the most painstaking jobs you can do online. It takes up a lot of your time. Many online businesses have been built on this aspect of SEO alone.

There are many submission services springing up daily. Whether it is article submission or director submission. There are also link exchange services of all kinds, free and paid. There is even the occasional article exchange program between webmasters. All to the objective of building back links. That is to tell you how important back links are to your effort at ranking well in the search engines. In fact, the number one search engine Google.com's algorithm is built around back links.

Back links are of many types.

1. There is the back link that is one way. That is, you get a link to your website without having to link back to the site that linked to you. These are the types you get from doing directory or article submission. Or if your website content is good enough other webmasters will freely link to your content or resource. Or you can just buy your back links from websites selling space on their sites.

2. There is the link exchange. This gives you a back link only if you link back. This is called a reciprocal link. you get these kinds from link exchanges. Either from free or paid ones.

So, how do you build back links to your website using directories. Directories are websites that list other websites according to categories and sub categories. Websites are listed under different topics. Some of the most popular directories are the Yahoo, Google and DMOZ directories.

You can build back links using directories in three ways. Through;

1. Free directories
2. Paid directories
3. Reciprocal directories.

You can get a comprehensive lists of these directories and their page rank at www.directorycritic.com To build these back links fast your can either use a directory submission software or you give it to a submission service. Hiring a submission service gives you more time to concentrate on other marketing aspect of your website. But if you think you have the time (it is time consuming), you can purchase a good submission software like submiteaze to do your submission your self.

Using free directories to build back links.

Beware, that using this type of directory to build back link may not produce much. The quality of back links you get is not much. Most free directories are new directories. Their goal is to get other websites to list in their directories so that their directories will be filled up fast with content. Once they get to some certain stage, after two or three months when they have acquired some page rank, they start to charge for listing in their directories.

However, you can get a very good free back link, if you get your site listed in the dmoz.org directory. This is a human reviewed general web directory. There are other quality free directories. You may have to wait a long time to get listed. And even when you are listed, the web page where your site is listed may be buried so deep in the site that it is of no value what so ever.

Using reciprocal directories to build back links.

Reciprocal directories are a little better than free directories. Your site submission is more readily accepted because of the reciprocal link you are offering to the directory. So your waiting time for acceptance is shorter than for the free directories. However, just like for the free directories, the webmaster is at liberty to list your site anywhere in the directory. This, most of the time, means being buried so deep in the directory structure that you do not get any value for listing.

Using paid directories.

Using paid directories to build back links is the best way to build quality back links to your site. Before we get into how to build quality back links using this type of directory, lets look at the advantages in being listed in them.

a. Before a directory will even think of charging for listing it must have acquired some quality. Either through page rank, which is the most obvious due to the page rank bar, or through acceptance in the webmaster community. And most of these paid directories are being spidered (crawled) by the search engines regularly. Sometimes on a daily basis. So if you have a new site your chances of being picked up and indexed quickly by the search engines are very high indeed.

b. You can get to choose where your site is listed. Most of the time the webmaster will not change the page your site is listed in.

c. Your site could be picked up for listing in other new directories.

d. You can get some decent amount of traffic since you will have a featured or sponsored listing in the directory. This means your website will be at the top of the page where it is listed.

e. Your site will get page rank passed to it from the listing page if it has good page rank.

Okay lets build these back links. Firstly bear in mind that there are thousands of directories on the web. They are also of different kinds, There are niche and general directories. So if any one directory doesnt satisfy you search out another.

1. Search out the directories with the least price and highest page rank at that price.

2. Browse to the page (category or sub category) you want to submit your site to and make sure it has a good page rank. For a page rank 6 directory, you could typically find a page rank 4 page to list your site in. If no page or category exist for a good page rank, move to another directory.

3. Choose featured listing without additional listings. Offer for featured listings with additional pages are normal higher in price than for directories without. The additional listings will not add any value in terms of page rank to your additional listed pages because most of the time the pages where you are allowed to list additional pages have zero page rank. Since you aim to build many back links through paid directories you do not want to waste your money.

4. Some directories offer permanent listing and yearly listing. Choose permanent listing so your credit card is not charged every year. Both provide same value.

5. Make sure there are not more than 20 to 30 other outgoing links on the page you will listed in. Having many outgoing links on the page dilutes the page rank passed to your site.

To conclude, bear in mind that the acquisition of quality back links to your website is a long time process. List which directories to submit to if you are doing the submission yourself or hire it out so that you can quickly build up the back links fast.

Article Marketing - Don't Stop Your Reader From Going to the Resource Box in Your Articles

If you are using Article Marketing to build your list or bring visitors to your web site or blog, one of the most important parts of your article in the article resource box. The resource box is where you get to invite the reader to your web site or blog for more information.

Very few writers know how to craft a prospect pulling resource box. Most do not do it well. The most amazing mistake I see are the article writers that actually stop the reader from ever getting to the resource box.

Sound strange? How do you know you are not doing it?

The 2 Biggest Resource Box Stop Signs

The first biggest stop sign is what I call a "hard end" to the article. By this I mean that you write in a way that the end of the article is way too clear. You might as well put "The End" like in a movie in the way you have worded the article.

The mistake there is the reader gets the message, "Oh, this is over. I'm outta here," and they are not likely to read further.

What to do instead: Don't stop the reader, lead them right into the resource box with a soft transition.

The second biggest stop sign is starting the resource box with information about you. This also announces "the article is over and you can stop reading now!"

What to do instead: Save the information about you for the last line of the resource box. Begin your resource box with an invitation to the reader to visit your web site or blog for more information.

The Art of Increasing Your Page Rank

After perusing page after page and article after article of How To increase page rank until I was almost comatose. I have decided to throw my hat into the proverbial ring and shed some light on the way I would go about increasing page rank.

Now if you decide to use my ideas please note that it is imperative that you keep timing in mind. You know the old saying. Out of sight out of mind well I am sure that applies here. Also, remember these are ideas and I would like some sort of credit if all goes well and complete absolution if it fails hideously.

As a web designer once told me, You better pay up or the page you are looking at now will no longer be there. (What a joker he was). Anyway, below you will find a few tips that I will be using and as I said before they are not for the weak.

First get in touch with Google and tell them that you Yahoo meant absolutely nothing to you. It was a fling and you swear your undying love only to Google. (Alternatively, you can use King who knows it cannot hurt).

Secondly, send flowers to Google I would say everyday about a month before the update religiously. (Do not forget to have a resource box where you can submit your domain address) Remember to check your spelling.

Third, offer to do their laundry I am sure there are single people working there that would appreciate this. In addition, if that does not work suggest donating one of your organs. (Their choice of course) In addition, while you are at it suggest to them they contact DMOZ and let them know about your generosity. (Just in case they have a few hundred laundry loads, they need to have picked up. (I am here for ya)

Lastly, when the page rank update takes place and if it does not meet your approval. Deny it and let them know it was a mistake you would like to have changed please to something like a 7 or 8 whichever is good for them. In the end if all of these tactics prove to be worthless then I suppose I will be back reading forums and linking to sites and writing articles until I am comatose.

WARNING - Reading this Article Can Result in Phenomenal Search Engine Positioning

Search engine positioning is imperative for gaining online visibility, credibility and website traffic. Call it common sense, ego gratification or simply human nature for individuals, businesses, or bloggers alike to aspire to carve their name into the #1 spot in the SERPs (search engine result pages) and firmly establish bragging rights in Google, Yahoo, MSN and countless secondary search engines.

Aside from the traffic and exposure, there is nothing quite like that top 10 feeling, even more so, if you're feeling lucky and play your cards right, you may in fact lay claim to multiple high ranking positions with tremendous daily search volume as a result of these website positioning tactics.

The sad truth about this is, working hard to achieve a competitive term can be short lived as you may celebrate your top 10 victory before going to sleep, only to wake and find your site punted to a less than satisfactory 12 positions into the nether regions of the 2nd page. Just be prepared, if you aren't defending your keep, all is fair in love and war, and as you know, the competition never sleeps.

Being at the top of the food chain has its advantages, whereas in this instance its the top of the organic listings in Google, Yahoo, Altavista, Ask, MSN and the other top tier search engines that is the prize sought by millions of proud online participants. The advantages are obvious, so without digressing into the reasons why it is important to be in the top 10 organic search results, lets take a brief look at the two types of search engine positioning that can either be (a) the greatest sense of elation you have ever felt in your adult life or (b) the reason why you lose sleep at night thinking about all the traffic you missed, from one slip off the rung.

The Two Types of Search Engine Optimization

In essence there are only two types of optimization, intentional optimization (the words and key phrases you aspire to attain) and the unintentional key phrases (otherwise known as long-tail) optimization. The first typically occurs through meticulous keyword research, building backlinks, link hunting (browsing through your competitors links and looking for patterns, similarities, tactics, etc.) as well as employing various website promotion strategies to catapult your site into the top 10.

The other type of optimization comes through semantic relationships of the keywords your pages are optimized for (or your competitors) triggering responses from search queries and giving the one with the most relevance (or backlinks with the keyword in question in the anchor text) the vote of higher search engine positioning.

One example of intentional optimization are when companies strategically purchase or use a URL with the keywords in the name. Although this is slightly off topic, it deserves a sentence or two to at least bring the tactic to light.

For the sake of elaboration, a website with a keyword in the URL typically has precedence over sites that do not have those keywords in the name (title or description). For this reason strategically it makes sense that if you wanted to rank for a term from the start, then you may wish to consider purchasing a domain with the keywords in the title. Owning the URL and not hosting your site there (just pointing at your current domain through domain forwarding) is not as effective as actually hosting your old site there and performing a 301 redirect at a new keyword-rich URL to give the new address a dose of link love and juice from your previous link building efforts. This is only one of many types of intentional optimization utilized for website positioning.

Another example of intentional optimization is through the use of deep links to give your internal pages more ranking potential from using the key phrases that comprise those internal pages as the anchor text (the text used in the link) for link building when you are developing backlinks from related or authority websites. This of course is nothing new, and when applicable you can control what is in the link instead of click here, depending on the website, if it's a directory, a press release or article. The ideal method of course is writing an article and using the author's resource box to add your leading keyword as a hyperlink to you site or in the instance that it's a blog post, you ultimately get to control the hyper link, the page it points to and the text used to link. For this reason, blogs are the hands down best choice for building links using a platform like word press which by default works wonderfully for optimization purposes if employed correctly.

In any case, this revolves around intentional optimization. The icing on the cake comes later when you realize that if you optimize enough terms that are less competitive, your site begins to move up the tail (the rungs of associated keyword combinations) so to speak and starts to rank for terms with higher relevance and traffic over time as the process gestates.

As a result, it is not uncommon to begin toppling associated key phrases, based on the strength of your content and optimization method. In laymans terms, if you are targeting a category for search engine positioning, the logical thing to do is use "exact match phrases" in the description and body copy when applicable. This creates an association with your site when those same queries are searched for online, much like a signal flare calling in the search and rescue team.

The glue between on page optimization and off page optimization is the volume and quality of the backlinks your pages receive from other websites. Controlling how your website is linked to can mean the difference between you ranking for "click here to visit" or "your main keywords", so if the links pointing at your pages happen to have those same "exact match phrases" your pages are geared toward, then guess who is going to rank higher (at least in some search engines, mainly Google based on personal experience) which is great, for intentional search engine positioning.

Another by-product is, since you know that this process is the underlying basis of ranking higher in search engines (at least for the time being, until other methods are in place to determine relevance). Then choosing the right words for link building are far more important than just making an assumption and using any old text for link development.

As an example, according to word tracker (a keyword research tool), the term search engine optimization for example has a daily search volume of 14,329 per day (which is an extremely high search volume). However if you add one word to it like search engine optimization company or search engine optimization services for example the daily search volume is 323 a day and 292 a day respectively, quite a decrease from the root phrase.

In addition to that, the competition for those terms is also proportionately less than the root phrase. So say for example that you wanted to get a piece of the action and optimize that keyword for your website, the last place you would want to start is at the top of the food chain. Its almost like a newborn hatchling trying to take on the king of the jungle, at very best its amusing and typically results in a frustrating exercise in optimization.

However, on the other hand, if you start at the bottom of the chain and work your way up, chances are you will amass numerous top 10 positions, grow your traffic organically within the realm of that keyword and unintentionally optimize several keyword combinations as a result of covering the pivotal terms (through exact match, anchor text link building) which would later be used in unison during long-tail or more specific queries from prospects performing searches.

So, ideally one should always try to start small and work your way up the chain but also try not to overuse the secondary lesser terms too much otherwise you may only be able to rank for them specifically in that exact order. One remedy is (a) use the root phrase in the descriptions and on page (b) build links with the secondary terms to cover your bases. This becomes apparent later if you try to optimize the less popular terms first and then attempt to go for the main meat and potatoes which is in my opinion more difficult.

By keeping your descriptions and titles lofty with the supreme goal in mind, when you do hit the appropriate digital density to topple the equation in your favor, your pages are already-ready-already as you grow your site into those proverbial key phrases / shoes.

So, remember, dont think like a hatchling, trying to take on a lion at this point is futile, grow your keyword list and strategically acquire rankings (one key phrase at a time) and eventually you will attain the top ranking keywords in your niche.

In the meantime, aside from discouraging others trying to figure out just how you climbed that ladder, your job is to stay ahead of the pack and keep abreast of the next emerging high search volume keywords that can rank all the way to the bank. Catch the wave in time, and you can ride it all the way to the shore and have just enough time to capitalize on it before it spirals down the chain.

How Many Articles Should I Submit Every Month To Make Sales?

Do you want to make more money with article marketing? Let me show you some of the common mistakes made by newbies just starting with this form of advertising, then I will show your the exact steps to quickly becoming more profitable.

Deadly Article Marketing Mistakes

1. Submitting one article per week.

Actually, it's not really a sin, but you will not make a lot of profits except if nobody else write and submit articles in your niche.

One article will not make you a lot of profits.

2. Submitting to only one directory

If you only submit to a single directory, you will not get the exposure you deserve. Profit from leverage in every single thing you do.

3. Mass submission

I see that many newbies try to submit with articlemarketer or articlepostrobots.com. There is no need to do this.

Will this hurt your article marketing plan because of the threat of duplicate content?

No, I've submitted with those services as well and my articles still bring me traffic. Duplicate content is another issue that I will discuss with you later because it needs a more in depth analyze.

What are the exact steps for success?

You need to do the following:

* Write several articles a day. I suggest a minimum of two per day to start. If you can't or don't have the time, this tedious work can be outsourced.

* Submit to the top twenty directories. For obvious reasons, you need to outsource this part as well.

If you are on a budget, you need to do this yourself. I know it's not easy but it's how I started.

Great Email Strategies - The Profit List

"More traffic is generated by email than by visits to websites". You may well have heard this claim and there is substantial evidence to believe that the volume of emails over the whole of Internet is growing every day. An email list strategy makes sense if you want to harness the power of this medium.

Before the strategy come the objectives. And before the objectives comes the knowledge of the market. In order to make a success of email marketing, understand what you market is and how it behaves. Figure out what the most attractive part of your offering is to your target market and leverage this. Find a memorable name for what you are doing, something that communicates immediately what you are doing and that is easy to remember.

Having done that you're in a position to start getting some attention. Optimize your web site so that it stands a good chance of ranking well in the search engine listings, throw your article marketing into high gear and use all available channels to generate leads back to your site and funnel them to your sign up page.

On your sign up page, make it attractive for people to sign up with their email addresses in exchange for information, a newsletter, a freebie or whatever. The fundamental requirement is for them to want to give you their email address. When this happens, you add the address to your list so that you can market to them in a relevant and acceptable way.

When they have signed up, it's time to welcome them with some useful information. You can always send out emails manually but this rapidly becomes tiresome especially if you are being successful in signing up many people. So this is where autoresponders and autolaunch tools come into your email marketing strategy.

These are automated software tools that fire of a welcoming email every time someone signs up, and that can be programmed to send a sequence of emails, each one at a fixed interval after the preceding one. This is great for example if your promise to get people to sign up revolved around sending them a free course. In that case the auto responder / autolaunch facility lets you send out the installments without you having to do the donkeywork.

To get more leads to feed into your email list, work on your expert status. For the area that you are doing in business in, write some articles to send to the big article sites. Make sure that you understand what they want before submitting your articles. You can do this by checking the submittal procedure that they have on their site.

Each article that you write will have your link at the end. You can make this link a direct link to the page on your web site that contains the sign up form. The idea is the following. People reading your article will see that you know your subject, will consider you to be an authoritative source of information and will click the link to find out more.

You can also continue to promote your email sign up link by including it in any email that you send. You do this by building your link into your email signature, which is the standard block of text with your name and brief details that you put at the end of each email.

Remember to put in a tag line that gets people's attention ("sign up here for the greatest golf swing news on the net"). It's a tag line that you can put in the signature file for your emails and that you can also use in your advertising.

Remember to continue testing different variations of your strategy to see which one get the best results. You can try one variation one week and another the next and then compare. Simple codes in the emails that you send out will let you see who is responding to which batch and you can also do similar testing on your tag line. Just track the results, see which tag line gets you the most sign-ups and adopt that one as the basis for future activity until you find a better one.

Link Building - Search Engine Optimization Golden Key

For anyone who doubts that link building is one of the most important factors in ranking at the top of the search engines, just type the phrase miserable failure into Google to see what happens. You will see the president of our nation coming up as number one. I find it very interesting that the words miserable failure do not appear a single time on George Bush's site. Why, you may ask, is this so?

This is so from a technique called Google bombing. Google spiders while they go out and index the world wide web, look for quantity and quality and relevance of links pointing to a website. A large group of politically minded astute computer people chose to link the words miserable failure to George Bush's site. In turn, they Google bombed him.

This alone is proof that linking is very affective to rank at the top of the search engines. It is a known fact that Google and the Google- bots are constantly surveying the entire net. In this process of surveying, they follow the links to and from almost every site on the internet. Google is currently indexing over 8 billion sites. You can imagine when their spiders and bots are trying to figure out who to put this at the top, they need to be able to use several factors. Linking becomes a democratic process. The more links you get, the more votes for you websites you obtain. The way Google sees it, is that the other websites are willing to link to you, so you must be important! They also look at how important and relevant the sites that link to you are. Therefore, it is not just quantity, it is also quality.

In my articles, I will always give some suggestions on things to avoid, as well as things to do. Two of the worst things to avoid in terms of linking are called link farms and webrings. Linkfarms and webrings are where hundreds and sometimes thousands of websites all agree to link to each other quickly. This is not a natural technique and therefore Google spiders will red flag and sometimes even ban sites from doing well in the rankings.
