Are You Making These 3 Stupid Mistakes With Your Article Marketing?

Let us look at why article marketing is so popular at the moment. Prospects hate to be sold. By providing good solid content you can provide valuable information without the prospect realizing that you are actually selling to them. This creates credibility and trust for you as you will be seen as an expert in the niche that you focus on.

Some benefits of article marketing is that your content will primarily be viral in nature and they will be published on many other websites. They also help to improve your link popularity for your website and your search engine rankings.

Mistake 1 - Writing Your Article For The Wrong Reason Often because you are in a hurry to write an article to gain brand recognition, backlinks and build an opt in list you will write an article in a hurry. The primary reason for writing an article is to get it read and for it to be informative. If the article does not offer significant value people are unlikely to click through to your website in your bio and publish it on their websites.

Mistake 2 - Writing Your Article Without A Strategy

There are two main reasons that you will write an article. They are writing to brand yourself as an expert and also writing to build an opt in list. You need to decide what is your primary objective. Writing an article for creating expert recognition will mean demonstrating your expert knowledge. This will make your articles viral as people publish it. However, it may not be that successful for building an opt in list. So you have to decide if you are writing your article to build an opt in list or create your brand on the internet.

Mistake 3- Not Taking Advantage Of The Free Search Engine Traffic Often people will write an informative article that will generate some visitors when the article has been approved. However, once other articles are approved in the same category your article will no longer display on the list of recently approved articles in that specific category. So you will no longer get traffic if you do not optimize your article for keywords that are searched on by search engines.

Making Money by Selling What You Have to Say

The best product to sell on the Internet is Information. By selling information, you will not have any inventory to keep track, and the profit margin for each sale is very high. You can start a business on the Internet by selling an information product like an e-book, which talks about a subject you know.

You can start selling on the Internet by building a website with advertising, affiliate links and associated products. After you have set up your website, focus on the basic, which is to drive traffic, traffic, and traffic. With the traffic, build up a quality list, and then try to convert your list subscribers to your customers.

Now I am going to share with you the steps in creating your own information product so that you can start your internet business right away.

1. Do a market research to find out the demand for a particular topic. You go to Yahoo Keyword Selector tool and enter your main topic; this will give you a list of searches related to your keyword - how many people searched for that term. It will also give you an idea of the profitability of your topic.

2. Conduct a competitive analysis before you decided to create the information product of your interest. Make use of Google and Clickbank to check that whether are there similar products on the Internet.

3. After you have done your analysis, create your information product and turn it into an e-book by converting to a .pdf file.

4. With your information product ready, it is now time to build your website. Your website needs to have at least 3 pages, the Opt-In Page, the Pitching Page, and the Thank You Page. The Opt-In Page is used to capture your visitors information like First Name and Email Address, where you can do promote other related affiliate products to them. The Pitching Page is where you sell your product, and the Thank You Page is where your customers download your products.

5. After your website is live on the Internet, the next thing you will need to do consistently is to drive traffic, but not any traffic, drive quality traffic. Using Google Adwords, which is a Pay-per-Click program, is a fast and good way to drive quality leads to your opt-in page.

6. Lastly, use other Internet marketing strategies to drive more targeted traffic to your website.

Do see your first sale; you will need to be persistent and patient. For one to make thousands of dollars from the Internet does not happen overnight. But it is definitely possible if you persist and do the right things.

Is Your Site Optimized Enough For Top Ranks?

Entrepreneurs, organizations, and professionals these days know, that having a significant online presence is of immense value.

Having a functional and relevant website not only helps a business or organization prosper, it also allows them to thrive in a competitive global marketplace. The strategic importance of a website can be seen from the fact that at present, there are around two billion or more websites on the Internet, and this number keeps on growing literally every minute.

To make sure that your website works efficiently and is found by those who require your services, then you should need to fully optimize your site. The art of website optimization helps to guarantee that your site will be found among the multitude of sites that are currently cluttering the Worldwide Web.

The Logic Behind Website Optimization

Website optimization is the term for the process of devising and crafting your web pages to ensure that they have a high ranking in popular search engine results. If a business entity is serious and is determined to have an online business presence, then optimizing their web page is of utmost importance.

When designing your website, it is vital that you specifically design it to get a higher ranking in search engine results, and to do this, you need to use the following stuff: Meta tags, Keywords, Title tags, Image Alt tags, Text as well as the overall design of a website. These components play a large part in fully optimizing your site. Although many search engines these days no longer make use of Meta in gaining higher rankings, these however, are still vital and should be included enhancing your site.

Why It's Important To Optimize A Website

The answer to the question above is quite simple: if your potential customers and target niche cannot locate you online, then they will most certainly find your competition, and when they go to your competitors, your business most likely will fail.

As a matter of fact, over 85% of online shoppers and buyers use search engine results to find the stuff they are looking for on the web. If your page then is not ranked in the top 10 or 20 of the search results; it would be tough for your online business to succeed, since no one will find you, and they cannot buy from you as well.

Factors That Help Optimize Websites

- Put In Appropriate Keywords and Phrases. First and foremost, you need to select keywords and phrases that best suit and properly refer to what your site is all about. A keyword is used to effectively describe the contents of your web page is. If your website is about baking, then the best keyword to use would be 'baking'. When outlining the content of your website, ensure that you concentrate on just a few important keywords and phrases, since keyword phrases play a very vital function in optimizing you site.

- Text. Because your text plays a major role in influencing your website's page ranking, it is of vital significance to optimizing your site. Take note that when drafting or composing your text for your site, it should contain the proper number of vital key words and phrases, which are used in different ways. Keep in mind that your keywords and phrases should appear at least three times, but not more than seven times in your texts.

- Meta Tags Help Describe Your Site. Meta tags are HTML codes that are found between the < HEAD> and < /HEAD> tags. These tags contain a description of your site and are found in the search engine results when you key in a certain word or phrase. Ensure that your Meta tags include your most important keywords, so that your customers will know exactly what your website is offering.

- Title Tags. The title tag of your site must always contain the most important keyword phrase of your site, since this will aid you in getting higher search engine ranking results. Type your key word phrase in lower and use only the most relevant keyword phrases.

- An Image Alt tag comes after a website's graphic address or URL in your HTML code. To fully optimize your graphics as well as your website, ensure that you insert a readable keyword phrase within the Img Alt tags.

Article Marketing and Your Resource Box - You Better Check Your Links if You Want the Full Benefit

Article writers get their articles kicked back for review all the time over this. I've even had some kickbacks when I've not been paying attention and not checked a link that I thought was good, and it was not. Something had just gone wrong in the last day and I didn't know it, so I was sending somebody to a link that was dead.

Make sure the links you put in there to your websites or blogs are live. Even if you've just been on that site that morning and you're writing an article in the afternoon, check the link.

It used to be that I taught that you want to have a clickable text link in your resource box, called an anchor text, like "Click here to..." or "Article Marketing Minute" would be highlighted.

You can still have one of those in your resource box, but what we've found is that many of the folks who have websites, newsletters and blogs that are using articles are not savvy enough to take the HTML code to make those clickable links back to their website, newsletter or blog and use them correctly, so it winds up a dead link. You don't want that.

You want to have at least one, maybe two, of what's called an 'absolute URL' in your resource box. Here's what an absolute URL is. It starts with http:// -- all the way to .com or the end of the domain and file name. So an absolute URL is the whole thing - http all the way to .com

Now that you know what an absolute URL is, and it's kind of a funky sound to it, 'absolute URL' - take it to the next party and see how many people know what an absolute URL is. It would be great conversation. Yeah, right.

MSN Writing - Here's A Simple Way To Escape Career Boredom

Now let us look at the typical internet marketer. Usually if they are using ppc to drive traffic to their web site then they will have the headache of tracking and monitoring their campaigns to make sure that they are profitable. Similarly if they are using another form of paid advertising like ezine advertising they have to follow a similar process.

Now let us look at the way these article directories work. They have advertising on the web sites and they allow publishers to submit their articles. If the article is of significant quality it will get approved and in return the writer of the article will get good search engine rankings on search engines like MSN because the article directories have very high page rank.

Also there is a viral component. When publishers look for valuable content to publish on their web site they get this from the article directories. This saves them from the time required writing the articles. So this creates many different sources from which you will get traffic from. In your article you are allowed to put your bio which is your unique selling proposition and a link to your web site.

Now this is where you monetize your web site. When a visitor visits your web site you capture their name and email address and market to them over and over again. This can be a product that you create or a wholesale product that you drop ship.

If you do this process of writing articles consistently and writing articles for MSN and other search engines you can become very wealthy over a long period of time. You may seriously want to start considering this as an alternative career if you have an entrepreneurial mindset.

Improve Search Results With Article Marketing

The key to improving search engine results is to develop quality links to your website. There are a variety of techniques you can use to get others linking to you. One of the most popular and effective methods is through article marketing.

The concept of article marketing is to take authored content that you create and distribute it to websites in need of content. When you distribute your article, you include links back to your website (usually in the About the Author section). These links help to improve your websites link popularity and therefore search engine results.

Article marketing is most effective when you can create articles that are of value to a wide audience or targeted niche market. Keep these guidelines in mind when article marketing:

1. Use original article content. There are a variety of ways to write articles. I find the best way to generate articles that improve search engine results is to make sure its an original. There are many websites that offer PLR articles (private label rights), article wizards, and so on. Regardless of how you produce your article, make sure it is one-of-a-kind.

2. Make your articles available on your own website. As a starting point, each time you create original content, post it on you website. Google looks for and diminishes the search results of duplicate content. Therefore, its important that you stake a claim for your content by promoting it on your website before any distribution effort.

3. Embed your keywords and keyword phrases. When writing your articles, be sure to include your keywords and keyword phrases throughout your document. Using the proper keywords is essential for website indexing and search engine optimization.

4. Write articles with a minimum of 600 words. A number of websites that accept and distribute articles will only do so if you meet article requirements such as minimum length. Many of these websites process a large number of articles and attempt to reduce spam with a minimum word count requirement of 600 words or more.

5. Use article distribution sites. By submitting your article to the largest article distribution sites you improve the likelihood of your article being repurposed by third party websites. Sites like eZineArticles and GoArticles are popular resources for webmasters seeking quality content. If webmasters find the information in your article valuable, theyll repurpose it on their own website. This viral effect can provide significant traffic to your article(s).

6. Include an About the Author section. At the conclusion of your article, be sure to include an About the Author section. This is one of the most important things you can do to build back links to your site. When other websites publish your content they are required to include this section. Make sure that multiple links to your site are present in order to build link popularity and improve your search engine result placements.

7. Be persistent. The benefits of article marketing are seen over time. As a rule of thumb, you should begin any article marketing campaign with a commitment to produce and disseminate a minimum of 10 articles. This gives you a good footprint in your area of expertise and builds a number of backlinks to your website.

Whether youre new to article marketing or are an experienced article marketer, each article you produce and distribute provides value to your website when executed correctly. Write valuable content, include an about the author section, and use article distribution websites. Youll quickly discover that article marketing is a great way to promote a product, website or service!

Making More Than $700 A Week On The Internet Takes Work!

Basically the internet can be used to make money in three ways:

1) Selling a thing or service that you provide yourself

2) Selling a thing or service that someone else provides (affiliate marketing)

3) Using the internet to play the stock market, Forex market, traded options or other form of intelligent gambling.

For beginners the easiest is number 2 - affiliate marketing, and this article is going to deal with that. An"affiliate" is just someone who points the prospective customer at the website of the seller. There are plenty of wealthy affiliates who earn more than $700 a week. We are going to split that method into two parts, leaving the other methods with just a passing mention.

"Pay per click" (PPC)

If you have a little capital to invest you can use established advertising services such as Google Adwords or Yahoo Search Marketing. This involves writing a short advertisement, placing it with Google or Yahoo or some other advertising outfit and letting them display it, for which you will pay them. The more money you are prepared to pay, the better they will display it.

If they display it in a prominent place - i.e. among the first ten search results that come up when someone enters the phrase that forms your ad heading into the search box - people will click on it and be brought to the site where the article or service is sold. You will pay for every click, and the cost can soon mount up so you had better be sure that only those who really want to buy will click your ad.

This is terribly important, so be warned! Your ad must be such that very few who are just browsing are going to want to click it: it must be specific. An ad with a heading "Luxury watches" is going to get a lot of clicks but you won't sell enough watches to cover the cost of the ad, never mind making a profit. On the other hand, an ad headed "Patek Philippe nautilus watch" will attract mostly those who are looking for this kind of watch and are considering buying one, so that a greater proportion of clicks will "convert" into sales.

Article Marketing

Another way of affiliate marketing is to write articles. These articles will be on subjects that interest people and their purpose is to bring the reader to the website where your product is being sold. You will publish them on one of the article sites on the internet - EzineArticles.com, Goarticles.com and USFreeAds.com are three well used sites. Your article will contain, either in the body of the article or at the end, (editorial policy varies between sites) links to a site where there will be a sales page.

The big search engines are looking over these sites, too, and they may feature extracts from your article on their search results pages. You must become a member of these sites, and USFreeAds.com charges a small monthly fee. The other two are free. USFreeAds allows blatant ads, the other two want informative articles with some links.

The great advantage of this form of selling is that it costs very little or is even completely free. Free as regards money, that is. But certainly NOT free as regards work. You are going to have to spend much time and thought over your writing, and if you are not an experienced writer this can be a daunting task. It does need sustained work in researching and writing articles and for some - me anyway - that does not come easy. Just writing one or two articles, publishing them and sitting back is not going to make you much money. You will need, thirty, fifty or a hundred articles to be sure of making money, because not all of them are going to work. Even writing just one a day can tax your creative powers to the limit if you are a beginner.

If you do persevere and publish a large number of articles, many of them are going to bring in sales and you will make money. Some article publishers make much more than $700 a week, so you can set your sights quite high!

You will find more help than you can possibly use at certain sites on the internet. Not everyone with a website is out to fleece you, some will give very good value for money, and there is a lot of free advice even by experts. The site I find most useful is run by two very successful young men - wealthy affiliates - who get a kick out of helping others and I recommend it. Newsletters and free e-books can also be useful - if you don't get sucked in and spend instead of earning!

How To Gain Attention For Your Article

Internet based businesses are in a race for domination with other vendors popping that will assist them for only a small fee.

With a steady flow of visitors and web traffic you may find yourself in a position where you don't have to pay. You can build yourself the foundation of a loyal list by allowing visitors to sign up or opt in and allow your list to grow from there.

Use an opt- in list to gain subscribers to your newsletters, your visitors know they will be receiving news and updates from you regarding your site and industry via email. Unfortunately that does not mean that your subscribers will read it.

Sometimes lists are made using other methods such as an attachment with a promotional offer or a free product. The subscribers are not really interested in receiving the emails as much as getting the promotion and often delete the email without even opening it or scanning it over.

There is a way to change this.

A lot of time and effort goes into creating a newsletter and you don't want it wasted. To get readers you need to create an interest for the reader. That interest needs to be strong enough to get the results you want. That is traffic to your website to purchase the products available there.

Creating an interest this strong requires writing on a subject of interest in a well thought out manner. You need to tempt the reader into visiting your site.

The one sure thing most people will see of an email is the subject line. Based on the subject line the subscriber will either decide to open the email or delete it. Because of this, the subject line has to be the most important part of any email sent to subscribers.

Make the subject line short with a concise point. The goal is to give the recipient a summary of the content and a reason to read. In needs to grab the reader's attention with a promise of more to come. That intrigue with the content is what will get them to open the email.

Subscribers do not automatically open every email, but a good subject line will generate enough emotion to make them curious enough to open it.

There are specific words that can help you to get the reaction you want to achieve. The recipient will typically only spend a second or two on your subject line, deciding to open it or not. You need to get their attention in that short time.

A few example of good attention grabbing words are "tips", "guide" and "how to". These are key phrases that will pique the reader's interest when paired with a subject the reader has interest in learning more about.

Another good method to create interest is by presenting a question that is easily affirmed by the reader. Questions such as "Are you tired of your job?" or "Are you getting paid less than you deserve?"

By tying questions such as this into the content of your website that your subscribers have already shown interest in by opting into your newsletter, you can't help but generate in urge for them to open it. The reader can't help but start to answer the question with their minds wondering.

Other subject lines that can grab attention announce benefits or time limits to reading the newsletter. Subjects such as "Excellent opportunity for those that act now." Or "Triple your earnings in one year." Or even "Breaking news."

Whatever subject line you decide upon, it needs to create excitement, urgency, intrigue or even lead the reader into reading further.

Free Marketing Strategies for your Online Business

Many of us have created an online business after seeing the results that others have had. Tons of internet business owners have built passive income streams that provide $10,000 in monthly income.

However, after creating our businesses, we find out that these successful people are spending hundreds if not thousands of dollars online every month to market their business. Is there anything you can do to market your business in a cost efficient manner? The answer is yes, and this article will explain the four best ways to market your business for free.

1. Press Releases

2. Articles

3. Classified Ads

4. Forums

1. Press Releases

Press Releases are probably the fastest way to expose your website and drive traffic to it as quickly as possible. This is because instead of having to be approved for seven days to a month as with articles, press releases get your address out to the search engines immediately.

Your press release should have a title that is full of keywords that you have researched and that will attract the most visitors. You can research keywords at www.goodkeywords.com, or many other great sites. Your next step is a subhead, which gives a brief overview of the story while using good keywords. Your body should not be a sales pitch, it should be an interesting story that keeps the reader interested. Again, you DO NOT try to sell your business here, just write an interesting and honest story that will inspire respect in the reader for you and your business. In the keywords section, use solid keywords that you have researched on a keyword site. The final part is your contact info, which is where you give the reader a call for action by leaving your website or email address. This, and only this, is where you explicitly sell your business.

2. Articles

Articles are a great way to build respect and prove your knowledge in the industry, which evokes trust in potential sign ups. As with press releases, articles should have sound keywords that have been researched extensively. Keywords are the keys (no pun intended) to driving the most readers to your article. The article body should have good organization, with an introduction, a few key points, and then a conclusion. The body should have information that you think a reader would find valuable so that they will consider you a credible source. The resource box is where you call the reader to action, and is the ONLY place you should sell your business.

3. Classified Ads

Classifieds are yet another great free way to market your business. The nice thing about classifieds is that they target the market you are looking for: people in search of a home business opportunity. There are plenty of free classified sites you can post on to attract sign ups. Try to keep your classified short and sweet, and give just enough information to intrigue them and drive them to your website, but not enough to bore them. Remember to research the keywords and title you include, as this is an important step in any free marketing opportunity.

4. Forums

This is yet another great opportunity to gain respect and credibility, and consequently drive more traffic to your site. Find a few forums you like and that are active, and then spend half an hour every day posting. Medium to long posts have the most search engine power. Research before you post, and never personally attack anyone in a forum. The most important part of posting in a forum is to utilize your signature, where you put your url and a call for action. If forum members read your posts and find you a credible resource, they will be motivated to read your signature and follow it to your site.

Conclusion

There are plenty of other ways to market our online business for free and drive traffic to your website, but these are the strategies I have found most effective. The main theme of marketing is to build respect, credibility, and trust, and this will translate into a successful business.

Internet Marketing Requires An Effective Resource Box

If it has been written in a right way, the reader is more than willing to click the link in the About The Author Box. That is the real internet marketing part of the article.

It is quite simple to put together an effective About The Author Box to make money on the internet. It needs some planned, tiny tricks, which I go through in this article.

1.The HTML Or The Plain Text Version.

Normally the article submission service requires a certain version or both versions and the requirement depends on the rules of the article directories. All accept the plain text version. Some submitters want both versions, but all in all, if you use an article submission service or software you don`t have to worry about this issue.

Those internet marketing article directories, which accept HTML content, accept HTML About The Author Box. The HTML Box is a grand way to make the reader quickly click the link and is surely more effective than the plain text version.

Small things matter in the internet marketing. If a reader is enthusiastic about the content and eager to click the link, he founds out that he has to copy the url and paste it into the search bar, it can be a too long route.

2. Use Short And Persuasive Box Text, Call The Reader Into Action.

Most article publishers and readers prefer a short Box text, which has also better chances to get published in more places than a long one. An ideal length is under 300 characters including HTML tags, spaces and punctuation.

3.The Box text Must Be The Most Personal Part Of The Article.

Your first job is to write your name into the Box. The internet marketing article is one of the best ways to build trust and brand name. Because all internet marketing businesses are small businesses, the person behind the brand is the most relevant to the reader.

The personalization of the internet marketing brings the benefit that people learn to know you and trust you. You see, when about 5 contacts are needed before a single person starts to trust and buy, the About The Author Box with your name in every internet marketing article box is a great way to get this needed repetition. Soon you will be seen an expert.

4.The Box Text Brings The Backlinks.

Use a full url together with your name and a short persuasive text, also in the plain text version and the amount of backlinks will increase. Many directory editors will change the url text into clickable version, which means more traffic. Bonus!

5.Make It Search Engine Friendly.

To increase the power for your internet marketing, you can use different anchor texts, keywords, in different articles. The benefit is that different articles will climb high on the search engine result pages and you have even better chances to make money on the internet.

6. Stay Focused With The Links.

With some submitting software or services even three links are allowed. Sounds good? Not quite. If you think the issue from the reader`s point of view, he will be more than confused with more than one link, which is the right landing page.

The internet marketing About The Author Box needs planning and thinking. When it is in the article end, it solves whether your contact with the reader goes on, so write it with an enthusiastic style and you will win. Just Do It.

Article Marketing - 5 Essential Steps For Success

Affiliate Marketing training would not be complete without explaining the HUGE upside to Article Marketing. Once implemented, these content specific articles will keep generating traffic literally for years after initial publish.

The internet marketer uses articles to direct traffic to a website or blog where he has a product or information. An article is NOT a sales page ... as such, it WILL BE rejected by the article directories. :-(

In considering utilizing article marketing, there are 5 specific steps required in order to gain benefit from the article.

1. Carefully choose a product or information that is the ultimate focus of your article.

2. Develop quality information regarding your subject. Your goal is to provide enough information for the reader to see the value, but you DON'T want to provide all the answers ... pique their curiosity to learn more.

3. Provide examples, tips, or tutorials to demonstrate how the subject will be beneficial.

4. Expand your points to paint a picture of the process. Be careful to keep your text informative without bordering on a 'sit-down' classroom session.

5. 'Shine your Apple' before submitting. Perform a complete review and edit as necessary.

It is ALWAYS advisable to save your article and walk away for awhile. We all have a tendency to write what we want to hear. Return to your draft and put your "subjective" face on. Get 'out of yourself', apply the basic steps, and see if your draft meets the criteria for the average viewer. Did you clearly define a problem and provide a practical answer or solution?

Does your article 'read' like a sales page? Generally, avoiding the use of first tense ("I") will help to generalize your points. Remember, you are NOT selling anything ... you ARE generating interest in your chosen topic. Keep in mind that your goal is not to appeal to everyone. Make sure that you have identified your target audience, and have provided enough information to grab their attention. Have you clearly defined the problem? Have you suggested a course of action that may offer a solution? Is your information unique, or can it be found in any number of throw away ebooks? The last thing that you want is for the viewer to go "yeh, yeh, yeh ... same old stuff".

Before you submit your article, make sure that you review your landing page destination from the Resource box. Are all of the links active? Are the keywords compatible? Is the subject of your landing site an expansion of the theme of the article? Do you add additional value?

Article marketing is a VERY effective tool for building your affiliate marketing business. Seek out sources of information that will help you fine tune your various article marketing campaigns ... Research is NOT a dirty word! :-)

Finding New Customers and Encouraging Loyalty - Simple Strategies for Car Care Professionals

Car care facilities are like many local businesses; they rely on loyal customers who, time and time again, return because they like the service, atmosphere, and price. And, whether your facility is a self-serve establishment or an automatic, building positive customer relationships is crucial to business success. But, how do you grow your business and attract new customers? Do quality service and good prices translate into more customers and expanded revenues? Not necessarily

Oftentimes consumers think of a carwash as a commodity-level service. As professionals we know that this is not the case, and that the quality of both car care products and services varies widely within the industry. Our job is to demonstrate that the quality of car care service depends on the provider, and that our facility offers consumers the best value for the best price. But, before we are ever able to demonstrate the value of our services, we must first give the public a reason to visit our car care facility.

Many times consumers choose a car care provider based solely upon proximity, visiting a facility simply because it is close to work or home. But there are simple ways to entice customers to drive past other car care facilities while they are en route to your location, and to keep them coming back year after year. In order to find and catch long-term customers, car care business owners simply need to; 1. Speak to the right audience, 2. Present potential customers with the proper "bait," 3. Impress them with quality service, and 4. Give them a reason to return.

Speaking to the Right Audience

While most business owners would like to market their services to their entire community, savvy entrepreneurs realize that businesses must be selective when initiating a new marketing campaign. Marketing dollars work best when businesses target population segments that are most likely to be receptive to the advertising message. One such demographic often overlooked by small business owners is new movers.

New movers are individuals that are just joining your community, or that have relocated from a different neighborhood or section of town. What makes new movers special from a marketer's perspective is that new movers are generally more receptive to product and service offers, and are more likely to be willing to establish new routines and visit new locations. With a little effort and the right "bait," your car care facility could quickly make its way into the routine of a new community member.

Presenting Your Bait

New movers typically establish their daily routines within the first few months of arriving in a new location. And, once they establish their day-to-day routines, they are typically more reluctant to incorporate a new business into their daily behavior. Therefore, entrepreneurs have only a few months to persuade new movers to visit their business and try their services before it is too late. Business owners should recognize that this small window of opportunity could develop into a valuable and lasting customer relationship if handled properly, or a missed opportunity if handled poorly.

What if the next time a new mover arrived in your community he opened his mailbox to find a welcome note penned by your car care business, inviting him to stop by for a free deluxe car wash and wax? Chances are most customers would appreciate the gesture, evaluate the offer, and possibly make a mental note to stop in to receive the free service. Suddenly your car care business becomes one of the only small businesses the customer knows in his new community, raising the chances that he will stop in for a car wash. And, if you have given the customer the right reason to stop by (i.e. an invitation worth one free deluxe car wash), the chances become even more likely that your invitation will bring him to your business's front door.

Impressing Customers

"But our deluxe car wash retails for $24.99," you may ask. "Why should I give it away for free when the customer may never even come back?" Good question. Why offer your premium services for free when you could just as easily offer one of your less expensive servicesor better yet, a simple discount coupon that grants customers 10 or 15% off the price of a normal car wash? Because you are creating a new customer relationship, and the first step to creating lasting relationships with members of your community is to impress them with the quality of your services. Not many customers will be impressed by an offer of 15% off a normal car washbut most will be surprised at a special invitation that offers a service valued at $24.99.

Business owners must remember that humans are creatures of habit. One of the most compelling reasons to target new movers is to establish your business as part of the mover's new routine. If you can impress your customers with your premium services, chances are they will not settle for just your basic "wash-and-rinse" next time they visit your facilitiesand next time you can charge them full price! You've given away services that retail for $24.99 (but probably cost you far less) to establish a relationship that will earn that amount on a monthly or bi-weekly basis, maybe for many years to come. When you put the cost of giving away your free premium service to a new mover in perspective, it seems less like charity and more like a smart business strategy.

A Reason to Return

So, you've enticed new movers to your business with an attractive service offer and have impressed them with your facilities and customer servicenow all you have to do is sit back and wait for the business to come to you, right? Wrong. While your new mover offer has certainly gone a long way, it will not guarantee you a steady stream of loyal customers. Unfortunately, while new movers may like your services, they may not automatically make your business a part of their everyday routine. Therefore, you must give them a reason to return.

Now, take a step back to when that new mover entered your business for the first time after receiving his service invitation. He was new to your facilities, unfamiliar with the area, and hoping for a positive experience. And, if you did your job right, he was probably impressed. So why not invite him back? After your attendants have washed, waxed, and detailed his car, ask him if he would be interested in receiving information about future offers such as the one he just enjoyed. Tell him that from time to time your business sends out emails to preferred customers with information about discounted services. Chances are your new customer will eagerly offer his email address for future use. That email address is the beginning of a customer database that will help you to drive business to your doors whenever you choose, and allow you to speak directly to the very customers that appreciate your services.

It works like this; let's say it's a cloudy Wednesday afternoon, and your car care attendants have been waiting hours for a customer. They're getting bored, you're getting anxious, and cars keep driving past your business. Now think proactively. Instead of waiting for one of these cars to stop by your facilities, why not draw customers who have used your services before to your business using the same tactics you used when they were new movers? Remember those email addresses you've been collecting? It is time to put them to good use.

Decide on a special offer; let's say 50% off your premium service. Compose a brief email to customers outlining this discount, and explain that it is only available for the remainder of the day. Hit send and then wait.

Your customers will receive that email, remember the positive experience they had last time they stopped by your business, and will consider dropping by for the special offer. And, if they do and you impress them with your friendliness and quality service once again, they will have yet another reason to visit you in the future. You've turned a slow day into a profitable one just by going back to customers you know have already used and enjoyed your service! That's smart business!

Remember: customers hold the key to your success. The more often they come to see you, the more likely you are to reach your business goals. Go ahead and give them a reason to stop by.

How to Increase Your Web Site Link Popularity

Link popularity is without doubt one of the most important aspects of a search engine ranking algorithm - this variable tells the search engine how many web sites out there are linking to your web site, which gives a really good indication of how popular or important your site is.

Your web site NEEDS links, it can't survive at the top of the search engine rankings without them. In this article I am going to explain how anyone can get good quality links for their web site, without paying for them...

Link building for your web site is not technically difficult, it just requires some time and dedication to do the job properly. If you don't have the time and discipline to do the job right, I strongly suggest hiring someone - WCR Internet Marketing provides this service in some of their Web Marketing plans.

I recommend only looking for links from sites that are related to your site. If you can't determine a relationship between your site and theirs, move along, there are plenty more sites out there that are more relevant!

Always remember why you have a web site - you want people to find your site useful, so make sure you are only linking to useful, relevant content. Think about this - if a surfer is browsing a site about rebuilding a car engine, they aren't likely to find a mortgage broker link very useful, are they? Stick to linking amongst relevant sites, and I guarantee you that in the long term your site will benefit greatly.

This is the 6 Step process we use when building links for clients:

1) Determine what sort of links you want.

This is extremely important. The types of links that you're looking for are industry specific. If you have a web site that is focussed on the rebuilding of car engines, you will be looking for links in the automotive or car related areas in directories. If you are selling electrical contracting services, you will want to look for regional listings or general business listings to find possible links.

2) Find your source of links.

So we're looking for links that are relevant to your web site. The best place to source your links are directories such as DMOZ. Go to a directory, browse through to a category that suits your site (a lot of the time there will be more than one suitable category) and you will see a whole lot of other relevant sites, perfect for sourcing quality links. Try the directories below, they should keep you going for a while:

http://directory.google.com
http://directory.yahoo.com
http://dmoz.org

3) Determine whether or not a site is relevant.

It's time to start visiting web sites. Have a look at each site one by one to see if a link to your site would realistically fit in. A webmaster isn't likely to want to change the structure of their site just to add a link to you, so if you don't think you're going to fit in, close the site and move along to the next. If you think you have a chance of getting linked, move on to the next step.

4) Determine where on the site your link would fit best.

If it's a directory that you're browsing through, find the most appropriate category for your site. If it's just a web site, have a look for a links page or any other pages that have links or might be suitable to have links on it.

5) Submit your site.

If it's a directory that you're on, once you are in the appropriate category for your web site, look around the page for a place to submit your site. Quite often you will find something like "Add URL", "Submit your site" or "Add a link" etc. Use this link to submit your site.

If you're on a relevant web site and there is no "Add URL" function, you will need to find an email address for the webmaster. Keep in mind that when emailing the webmaster, always personalize your request - don't just copy and paste a template to thousands of different webmasters - that's a sure way to have your request sent straight to the recycle bin.

Take the time to look around for a name, it won't always be available, but when it is - use it. Let the webmaster know where you think it might be suitable to have a link to your site and let him know if you are happy to reciprocate the link. At the end of the day, the easier you make it for them, and the more polite your request is, the more likely you are to end up with a link.

6) Document all of your work.

I can't stress this point enough, it is absolutely the most important part of any link building campaign. Create a Word document with all your site information in it (Title, Description, URL). Also in this Word document, have a few email templates prepared for different scenarios - I know I said don't use templates, but you don't have to type out every request every time you want to ask for a link - make up a template that you can fill out specific information on like the web site address, where you would like your link to be placed etc.

Make sure you also document each individual link request you make - every time you ask someone for a link, write it down in your Word document. That way, at a later date, you can go through the list and check who is linking to you and who isn't.

In Closing

Remember to be patient and keep your eye out for new potential links. Improving your web site link popularity won't send your web site straight to the top of the search engine rankings, but it will help you in the long term. If you plan on building a successful web site over a number of years, a properly organized link building campaign will do you the world of good. Remember, Rome wasn't built in a day.
