Which Off-Page Factors Matter Most To The Search Engines

Off-Page Factors That Search Engines Look For

The exact way in which the search engines rank the pages of a web site is not known to anyone outside of the inner circle of engineers working for Google, Yahoo, MSN etc. However there are some general principles on what is considered to be positive factors that can influence your rankings.

These factors relate mainly to the quality and quantity of incoming links to your site. Although outgoing links also play a part, they are not as important as incoming links.

Quality of Incoming Links

Quality is based on the perceived importance of the website linking to you. If the link is one way (you dont reciprocate by linking back) it carries more weight than a reciprocal link.

Another factor to consider is the relevance of the page that is linked to. Its no good having a page from a gambling site linking to a page on a health site. The more closely they match the better.

Relevance of On Topic Theme Content

Based on your sites content, the search engines determine the theme of your site and the relevance of your individual pages to your theme. This is one of the reasons why it is so important to focus on a niche topic and not go too broad.

The search engines are looking for sites that appear to be natural and not contrived to beat their algorithms. If your site has lots of incoming links but they all went to the same page, this would not appear to be natural. Similarly if lots of your links come from the same site or even the same server, this would raise alarm signals with the search engines and they could penalise your rankings.

Tip:

Do not try and fool the search engines by purchasing links from so called "link farms" or other dubious schemes. You may succeed for a short while, but the search engines will always catch you out and penalize your site heavily.

In SummarySEO is not an exact science a page could rank no 1 with Yahoo and not even be in the top 100 with Google. Similarly, a page that ranks well today could rank poorly tomorrow. Dont get too involved with trying to figure out what you are doing wrong. Stick to the basics of producing lots of good quality original content related to your niche and get as many quality incoming links as you can.

Three Easy Lessons to Take Your Online Marketing to the Next Level

I just spent the last week in two very different, but parallel universes. After helping researchers in a federal government agency work on getting their science understood and used in the marketplace, I tapped the wisdom of a conference full of online marketing gurus.

The common thread? These experiences reinforced several lessons that will help you succeed in attracting the right kinds of clients. Here are ideas and resources to help you take action:

Lesson 1: Be yourself when you market. This is particularly true if you offer a really complex or academic service (like the scientists I mentioned) where it's natural to cite lots of references and sources. Instead of getting caught up in stiff or unnatural language that stands between you and the audience you're trying to connect with, just be yourself. I see a lot of people struggle with this when it comes to writing "copy" for their website, an e-newsletter or sales letter.

In the wise words of my new friend, Fred Gleeck (online marketing genius and co-host of this past weekend's Subscription Website Publishers Association Conference http://www.swepa.org), "Just write the truth. The truth as you see and feel it. People will then feel more comfortable about the copy you write. They may not be able to put their finger on it, but it will be more believable and it will increase sales. Forget the hype and "slightly" untruthful copy. Adopt a writing style that makes sure that what you say and what is ACTUALLY true are in complete harmony." To tap more of Fred's wisdom, visit him at http://www.fredgleeck.com

Lesson 2: If you don't have one, start an e-newsletter TODAY! The key to successful online marketing comes down to one thing: a basic, opt-in e-newsletter. Why? Because you're invited to "touch" your readers regularly with small samples of your thinking. In turn, you invite them to check out more resources on your website. It becomes easy for them to spread the word about you. It's a way to get new contacts from your offline networking into your online marketing system.

A really good e-newsletter, written in your natural voice (see Lesson 1) is the engine that drives your marketing machine. Don't let excuses like "my website's not ready" and "we don't have our editorial calendar planned out" stop you. The point is to start connecting with your target audience at least monthly to build the relationship. My favorite resource for how-to is Debbie Weil at www.wordbiz.com. Debbie will get you up and running in no time.

Lesson 3: Nobody cares about you...and here's what to do about it. According to PR expert Paul Hartunian (http://www.prprofits.com), nobody cares if you've just released the greatest new service, gotten promoted, hired new staff or spoken at another conference. What they do care about is how you can rock their world. If you start your marketing message with, "We are pleased to announce...," you're dead in the water.

What you need to do is: 1) use a basic template to write press releases that work (Paul has 'em); 2) torture the media by telling them what problems you solve, but not how you solve them (they'll have to call you to find out); 3) develop a simple 3-page media kit for quick follow up (your 1-page press release, a 1-page "so what?" bio, and a 1-page FAQ sheet). The other hot thing that the press likes these days is online media rooms. This is a dedicated place on your website where they can, in one or two easy downloads, check you out and get what they need to write a story about you. An easy way to do this is via the Media Room product at www.dvcotechnology.com.

The 3 easy steps to improve your online marketing efforts?

Step 1: Be yourself when you market.

Step 2: Start an e-newsletter (monthly, at a minimum).

Step 3: Remember that nobody cares about you (only how you can rock their world).

Have You Chosen The Most Effective SEO Services For Promoting Your Site

Most online marketing knows that how their rankings on major search engines can predict the difference between success and failure. It takes ability, constant updating, and pushiness to stay on top of the search results, that's why many small businesses search for elegant SEO services for their site.

A convincing SEO firm can help you to reach high keyword rankings in all search engines. The SEO expert you hire to handle your website is a vital choice, and could control your success. So how do you choose the right one?

Search those who suggest sensible promises

Some SEO experts may guarantee getting top ranking; if an SEO firm offers a guarantee for top rankings, it may force them to use less ethical tactics, or black-hat methods, to achieve those guarantees. In this way, it's your site that will undergo the penalty of these methods. Thus it is necessary to hire a ethical SEO firm for promotion of your site.

Get recommendation from their regular customers

A giant and admired SEO company should have a vast list of satisfied customers. Verify that list of sites and their keyword rankings into all search engines. Lastly, try to contact those site proprietors and verify the trust according to them for that SEO firm. Are they recommend that SEO firm for your work or not?

Excellent SEO companies study your competitors

The effective SEO companies will study your competitor as closely as they'll look at your own site. Your competitors can teach your SEO firm vastly that how to promote your website through the search engines. They should be clever to affect their glories to your site, and help you get benefit from their failures.

Ethical SEO situated on two pillars - unique content and inbound links

Content should contain the targeted keywords in every page on your site with the suitable keyword density. It has to be the unique and appealing and relevant to the theme of that business area. The keywords should be smartly injected into your content as a part of that content. Your key phrases should be correctly used and should not be added in as many places as you can. So, if your wish to restrict your search engine rankings, just refresh your body content monthly or quarterly. Try to put something new to your visitors and to search engines as well for preserving their likings to your site for long time.

Inbound links directly refers your site navigation to the search engines. Cross linking of a site is more meaning full for that sites navigation. It helps your web site's usability and progress your searcher's browsing for better practice. A site getting much search engine rankings due to its vast number of relevant inbound links and it is viewed that, SERP takes batter position simultaneously with the number of relevant inbound link increment.

A trouble-free and prepared navigation will always makes your unique visitors happy and comfortable with your web links. I personally advise html navigational structure which is easily readable by Search engines.

To receive uppermost ranking you need to sharp SEO ability

According to the foremost SEO analyst (http://www.seosydney.net.au/whyseo.html) in web industry, the biggest confront that many webmasters have to building high concert improvements to their web site is really just in short period of time. For some individuals, they wait forever do the hard work on it but never seem to be able to get well ranked. Other peoples might buy tools or use available software and thinking that will do all the works for them. But still they are not satisfied with their keyword rankings. Here comes the term "ability".

SEO giants are doing less work done and receive tremendous search engine rankings during short time span, because they are continually study on the latest SEO trends thus they know the recommended path for success and they just apply those methods what are required for their work.

With the suggestion of those people you can receive effective search engine marketing which can increase your business conversion rates, which bring more qualified customers into your website, resulting in a superior number of sales or services delivered there.

That Page Just Won't Fly

Here are a few design failures that may call for an informational page solution:

Graphics Without HTML

Since search engines can't optically recognize text contained within graphics, they have nothing to index when they encounter a Web site entirely made up of graphics instead of HTML. Therefore, the Web site receives no rankings. In such a case, a Web site designer might construct an informational page to address any of the important keyword phrases that the site covers, and then link the visitor to the other areas of the Web site that the search engine could not index.

Not Enough Text

Here is one place where the saying "less is more" doesn't necessarily apply. Unfortunately, search engines need a reasonable amount of text to analyze to determine the content of a Web page. If you only throw 10 or 20 words into the mix, your site is unlikely to be a winner in the rankings. Some search engines have even stated that they won't index Web pages containing less than 250 words of copy (sometimes more, sometimes less). One thing you can do is construct your informational pages to cover various topics in more detail and link to pages that are full of dazzling graphics.

Too Many Topics

Ever eat a dish that tasted like the cook threw in every spice at hand? If so, you know that not all flavors combine well. When a Web page covers several unrelated topics, search engines algorithms have trouble classifying it. For instance, a Web page that discusses "dashboard mounted cellular telephones, " "global positioning satellite navigational devices," and "bulletproof glass" (all high-end automobile after-market accessories) may have difficulty attaining rankings on any of those phrases. Remember, one of the search engine's ranking criteria is "keyword weight." If a Web page contains 1000 words of copy and only one paragraph dedicated to each of these items, the page is unlikely to reach the critical keyword weight for any one of those keyword phrases.

Dynamically Generated Web Sites

Search engines seek to index Web pages that exist. That sounds like an overly obvious statement, right? But what if the Web page does not, in fact, exist until it is "called" by a program? Dynamically generated Web sites present a challenge to search engines, both technically and philosophically, because until the user clicks on a particular link, that page may not actually exist or have been built. Philosophically, the search engines does not want to index a Web page that is not actually there, one that does not, in fact, "exits." Technically, many platforms that produce dynamically generated content produce URL strings so long and complicated that some search engines spiders are unable to read or comprehend them. Worse yet, depending on how the dynamically generated site has been programmed, that same URL appears identically. Hence, the search engine indexes describes a Web page, but the searcher clicks through to find an entirely different page.

Using Frames

Search engines don't do a good job of indexing framed content, and they don't understand Flash. Despite the many workarounds, framed pages just don't consistently rank well. In these cases, the developer might build an informational page that discusses or summarizes specific content of a Web site and that is more inviting and indexable to the search engines. Even the best efforts by the largest companies do not produce good incomes with framed Web sites or Web sites that use Flash.

Well Written Articles Are Necessary For Your Websites Success

Article writing can be a scary prospect for many and with good reason since many people do not understand how to write quality articles. However, getting past this fear is the first step in building not only your website traffic, but its ever valuable back links. Articles have long been known to many webmasters as a way to supply others not only with the valuable knowledge that they share, but also a way of generating traffic and higher rankings within the search engines. As many know the higher your website lists in the search engine rankings for specific keywords can have a direct impact on the popularity of a website.

It is for this reason that many webmasters long ago turned to writing articles to not only share their knowledge, but garner more natural links back to their sites through quality written content. In today's online market place it is simply not enough to place a few banners or text links on popular sites. While these are still effective to some degree, the majority of traffic that is being brought into most websites these days are provided by the high rankings in search engines and word of mouth.

Being viewed as an expert in a field is helpful and can be accomplished through well written articles. You will gain traffic to your site through these articles from people who are looking to learn more about the information you have all ready supplied them with. In addition you can gain valuable links to your site if the article becomes viral and spreads across the Internet to dozens, hundreds or even thousands of sites. The shear number of viewers that could see a well written article is staggering if it becomes popular.

So why do so many avoid writing short and informative articles? Most have to get over the fear of criticism from others on what their views are on particular and sensitive subjects. For some this fear is to overwhelming to overcome and they will continue to linger at the lower end of the search engine rankings, but for those few that grasp the concept they will eventually benefit from the rewards of their efforts.

Some will become successful by other means besides article writing. Their sites will naturally become popular by the word of mouth that propels them to the top of the Internet Bubble as has happened with some sites in the past few years. While others will use advertising campaigns to gain the recognition needed to succeed, but honestly most of us cannot afford to do this.

So where does that leave the average website operator? Looking for free and effective means with which to get their sites noticed by the Internet masses. Article writing is more than just simply writing one simple article it is an on going process that will ultimately help keep your website fresh in the minds of those very Internet users that you are so desperately trying to attract.

Article Marketing - How to Benefit from the "John Grisham" Effect When Marketing Your Articles

Article marketing is a great way to build an internet business. One of the things I really like about article marketing is the more articles that you write and post on the article directories, the more traffic, prospects, publicity and profits come your way.

Article marketing is a numbers game - the higher your article numbers, the higher the rest of your numbers (traffice, prospects, subscribers, customers) will be.

Life begins around 100 articles

Now don't panic. One hundred articles sounds like an unreachable goal if you are just starting out, but it is achievable. I have one student/mentee that is going for 100 articles in 100 days.

Once you get to that level, and sometimes even before, you begin to experience the benefits of something I have come to call "The John Grisham Effect."

You know what it is like - you read a novel by an author you have never read before. You really like the book. So you want to read more by the same author. You go looking for what else that author has written. Sometimes you wind up reading everything that author has written.

It is the same as you begin to get more and more articles on the article directories. Someone finds and uses your article, and they have found your article to be very useful. So then the reader wants to know if you have written anything else. Then your new prospect is excited because they have found more information by you.

Pretty soon you have a loyal reader, subscriber, fan and maybe even customer. All from writing and marketing good quality articles.

Niche Article Marketing Mastering Your Niche

How would it feel to master your niche? What if your niche recognized you as the premier expert in your niche area? I submit to you that niche article marketing can help you become #1 in your niche area.

I know that sounds crazy, since the internet is so advanced and there are already so many experts out there. But I want you to think about the fact that many marketers have avoided the smaller niches because there is not enough money in them. So what has happened is that a lot of the niches only have for competition a few people who are not experienced marketers but are rather just good at what they do. What does that mean to you? It means that you can use hardball niche article marketing strategies and in some cases propel yourself to the number one spot in the search engine results for your niche.

With niche article marketing, you can also put yourself in the position where each of the top ten spots for your keyword, that the web site itself has your name listed on it as an expert in your field. So not only do you get the number one position if you do things right and others sleep on the job, but you can also potentially be the preferred expert on all the other websites on the search engine results page. So imagine what happens in someones mind when they go to search for information and every web site on the search results page has your name on it? They are going to perceive you as the expert and buy your product from your web site.

So how do you do this stealth niche article marketing?

1) Write 20 articles to start with, on your web site topic. Prepare a resource box with anchor text and live links going back to your web site.

2) Post 5 of these articles on the top ten biggest article directories, as evidenced by their respective pageranks.

3) Do a search of your keyword and look at the web sites that come up in the top 20 positions. Contact each of them personally and offer to write a testimonial for their web site. Most web sites should be glad to do this testimonials are strong forms of credibility.

4) Offer to help them write content give them some of the articles you have written already in step 1. Just be sure your name is included in the bio- you dont even need a live link, unless they dont care, but the key is that your name is on every web site in the top ten results.

5) Submit a few articles to at least 100 article directories.

6) Submit your web site to at least 100 web directories.

Using these stealth niche article marketing strategies, you should easily be able to catapult yourself from a nobody in your field to an expert in your field.

Article Writers - Computer Generated Systems, Key Wording Bandit and Fake Poser (BS'ers)

Today in online article marketing we find that there are many things that writers will do to churn out lots of material. Some online article marketers will use computer-generated software to help them write their articles faster. This also helps them with the proper buzzwords which assist in keyword marketing on the search engines. Unfortunately a "key wording bandit" is doing a disservice to the Internet by putting debris across the subject matter or domain of worthless information.

By doing this some writers are clouding the Internet and yes it makes it more difficult for readers to find exactly what they're looking. Instead they are diverted to a web site where someone is trying to sell them something and make money rather than to a place where they can find the information they're looking for as a type in their search on the Internet.

But even worse than this scenario is an article writer who is a faker or a poser and creates content very rapidly which is nonfactual, misleading and completely inaccurate. I call these people BS'ers or posers and they do a severe amount of damage to the credibility of the Internet. Those who use the Internet expect to be able to find what they're looking for when they do a search.

When the search engines bring back nothing but junk we can immediately see the problem. Article writers and online article marketers should be more careful with the information they distributed to prevent themselves from being delisted in the major search engines. When a few people take it upon themselves to manipulate or game the search engines everyone loses.

Knowing First Hand About Viral Marketing Articles

Viral marketing articles are not a new concept. In fact, it has been there for long, but people have become known to such online stunts in recent years. To me, the concept is as old as the human civilization. What was preached by the religious saints, spread from one corner to another and this was a form of viral marketing. Likewise, the religious inscriptions ordained by the god and written by saints passed on from generation to generation, in different forms and formats.

Besides, if the text is crisp, simple and directed to the target audience; you have this concept working laudable to your benefit. Viral marketing articles in the modern context involves online posting the content to various forums and top notch directories with the basic motive to get red and diverting the quality traffic to your website. In this sense, ebooks are a potent medium to spread across the web like fire.

Once you have consummated the task of viral marketing articles, you wait for the results. Believe me, it will not be a long waiting, until you hear your ebook being much talked about subject in online chat rooms, community sites and forums in general. Through the word of mouth, your content will spread from person to another and not only that, many will download those articles to their desktop for future reading.

Guys out there who want to aim high and make their Internet profits surge high, it is not simple as it reads. In fact, the content management system is intricate and you need to be aware about how it functions. It is more comprehensive and technically complex than the various writing tools, which you find these days. Viral marketing articles, by using competitive content management tools, simply increase your visibility gradually as many quality visitors make a hit to the links in your content every minute and every second.

Popularity matters a lot over the Internet. Viral marketing articles are the smart way to get quality audience directed to your website, and it is hardly matter of time, when you get popular and most acceptable lot amongst visiting audience.

Niche Writers India provide article marketing and article writing service in $4 a piece and if you are looking for article submission service then you can get it in $2 per article.

Can Submitting Articles Grow Your Business? Here Are 4 Ways

Today's Internet marketing environment is very competitive. Submitting articles is one way to help you archive an edge. This method should be viewed as a long-term method to grow you business.

The importance of submitting articles on a regular bases should not be overlooked if you want to achieve long term success with obtaining traffic to you web site or blog.

It has been said over and over again that getting traffic is the lifeblood of your online marketing success. I'm sure you have heard that about as often as you have heard that "the money is in the list". Well both are true. You must have a list and you must have traffic.

1. Submitting Articles Increases Your Search Engine Ranking

In this article we are looking at submitting articles as one way to accomplishing a higher search engine ranking. Unlike many of the methods, submitting articles does not cost you anything except time and effort.

Because of this writing and submitting articles is a very effective and non-cost way to promote your web site, blob, and your affiliate programs. Make your article search engine friendly. This means optimizing it with keywords and meta tags. The more top-ranked keywords you can use the better.

Next you need to upload the article to your web site or post it onto your blog. Then the search engines will spider your page an eventually you will obtain an increase in search engine rankings. This strategy works because the search engines like content that has been keyword optimized.

2. Submitting Articles Gives You The Potential Of Reaching More People

The reason for this is that by submitting articles, others will sometimes choose to use your article in their promotion efforts. When they do, the search engines will find those articles and if you have a link back to your site, you will get more exposure for your web site or blog.

Submitting articles in this case means submitting them to other sites. The best way to do this is to submit them to ezine directories. You are using the popularity of the ezine directories to get your article out onto the Internet.

When others find your content to be relevant to their efforts, they will publish your article on their web site or blog. Your link back to your web site or blog in your resource box will improve your link popularity. This is important to your quest for a higher search engine ranking. You also get totally free advertising by this strategy as well.

3. Submitting Articles Helps You Establish Reciprocal Links

Submitting articles decreases the necessity for you to seek out other web sites that would be willing to establish reciprocal links with you. Much of the work is done for you when someone uses your article on his or her web site or blog.

You really want to establish as many link partners as you possibly can. Search engines use link popularity in determining the search engine ranking for your site.

4. Submitting Articles helps You Establish Credibility And Reputation

Here's the key - write articles that have original and relevant content.

When your readers see that you are doing this you will create a good impression on them and increase the potential for them to be a future customer. It also encourages more of your visitors to re-visit your web site or blog.

Now your subject does not have to be original - but you're content should be. For example the topic of submitting articles has been around for years and it will stay around for years - because it works.

But if your content is yours you will be seen as an expert and your credibility will increase and you will gain customer approval.

In addition, some readers will write comments about your article. When you receive these and they are favorable, you can use them as testimonies on your web site or blog. These testimonies can become promotional material and gain you more approval and exposure. The trade off is that they also provide exposure for the one that wrote the testimony.

Use your negative feedback to make improvements to your efforts and publish that to increase your exposure even more. Turning your negative feedback into a positive will help in your efforts to create a good impression and possibly increase your sales.

As I stated at the beginning, this is a very competitive market. However, by submitting articles with good content that is relate to your web site or blog your efforts in promoting affiliate programs, your product and your business will be improved.

6 Ways to Capitalize on the Growth of the Internet

There are about 2 billion websites listed on the Internet today. Thats about 76,000 times the number of sites that existed in 1998. That is a pretty nice rate of growth. The question is, how can we capitalize on that? Lets make a few assumptions based on this information:

1) We can expect that the number of websites will continue to grow. Each of these new websites will need a place to be hosted. Look for quality companies that are among the best in the field and join their affiliate programs. These can be very profitable programs because you collect a check every time someone makes a payment. In addition, many of the sites will seek out domain names, look for the largest of these companies to continue to do well.

2) Most of these newer websites will attempt to increase the traffic to their site. Seek out popular programs that cater to increasing traffic. There are numerous SEO companies and others that focus on this type of business.

3) Some of these sites will be designed and maintained by professionals. Look for large companies that offer a full range of services in this area. Companies that offer Flash sites will probably do well in the foreseeable future.

4) The number of web pages available displaying ads will continue to grow. The amount of money you collect on a per ad basis will probably decrease due to the increase in the number of sites seeking to display them. Diversify and look for innovative ways to monetize your site.

5) Internet sales will continue to soar, but, due to the increased competition, the amount of income per web site will probably decrease. The big will get bigger, and it will more difficult for new, smaller sites to make a livable wage. Use whatever you can to grow and increase traffic. It will only get more difficult in the future.

6) The popularity of Internet video has been experiencing explosive growth. If you doubt what I say, look at youtube. Video will continue to play an ever-increasing role and may eventually replace written content. Look into adding some sort of video option to your site.

By being proactive, and looking to add some of the programs mentioned above, we might be able to capitalize on future Internet trends. Dont replace the things you are doing now, especially if they are working well. Just begin to add in some of the income streams above to take advantage of future growth.

Increase Targeted Web Site Traffic - The Secret

One way to increase traffic to your web site, and I mean "targeted traffic," is to get your article(s) into the top ten search results on Google. It's easier than you think--when you know the secret. I had to pay for this secret by buying a special report, but I'll give you the quick explanation here in this article for free.

When your article is ranked at the top of the Google search engine, the traffic flood gate opens wide. This really is an amazing method to increase the targeted traffic to your web site and not that many people are using this method.

You don't have to get a ton of back links to your site, you don't have to be an authority site, and you don't have to have a lot of tenure. You can be a brand new web site and this method will still land you in the top ten search results of Google and will drive a ton of targeted traffic to your web site!

Here's how to do it:

First all, and this should be no surprise, you must determine your keywords that you want to target.

What's important here is the long tail. That is, even with this incredible method, you still are not going to get ranked on page one at Google for two or three-word (highly competitive) keywords. You should be choosing four to six-word keyword phrases.

Next, these four to six-word keyword phrases should be used for the title of your article.

Now write a quality article about your niche, product, or service and be sure to use the keywords in the body of your article.

I must stress that you need to write quality articles to get the highest amount of targeted traffic to your web site. Because if your article is good, other webmasters will pick it up and place it on their web site. Traffic that comes from your resource box at the bottom of your article is traffic that will be delivered to your web site over the long term.

But that's not how you get a flood of traffic and ranked number one on Google.

Here's the real secret: Post your article on some authority web sites, then watch the flood gates open! It really is that simple. Authority web sites are sites that are super powerful, and you will be using their power when you are posted on their sites to get listed in the top of the search engines.

There are some generic authority web sites that you can post to (like ezinearticles.com), and there are no doubt authority web sites within your niche. Submit your article to these authority sites and benefit from their backlinks, their tenure, and their authority!

To find which web sites are the authority web sites in your niche, just do a search in Google for your keywords and see which sites are at the top of the search results.

To be effective, you only need to get your article posted on one authority site! That's right, just one, and you will see an increase in your traffic. But imagine what would happen if you posted your article to 10 authority sites. Or if you posted 10 articles to 10 authority sites.

Using the method in this article to increase traffic to your web site will only send you targeted traffic, which is the very best kind of traffic. What's more, when you post articles on authority web sites, they generally stay there for years. While you may lose your top ranking in the search engines over a period of several months, you will continue to enjoy targeted traffic to your site for years to come.

Article Marketing vs Social Networking - Why Stumbleupon Traffic Makes Me Feel Unloved

Most affiliate marketers have experience it at least once. You go to check your site stats and notice that your site has gotten more than 5 times the amount of traffic you usually see in a month and all that brand new traffic has arrived TODAY. Your heart slams in your chest a little as you check the source and notice that it is StumbleUpon and all those crazed stumblers that have made your traffic go through the roof.

The problem is, and youll discover this the moment you start checking other stats, those Stumblers arent sticking around. The bounce rate nearly matches the incoming traffic and your Adsense account isnt exactly feeling the StumbleUpon love either. No one seems to be clicking on those juicy Adsense boxes at all. So you check your affiliate accounts. Affiliate earnings are better than Adsense money any day, right? Darn it! Those Stumblers arent buying anything either! What is wrong with these people?

Nothings wrong with them actually. Its just a different mindset and its common to all the social networks. Social networkers arent generally in a shopping mood when they are surfing Digg or Stumbleupon or Reddit. Theyre in the mood to be entertained and they want to be entertained quickly. So they move on from one site to the next, barely stopping to read what you have to say as they kill time looking for a fix to their boredom.

This is a whole lot different than what youll see when your article links are clicked. Your articles are usually found during a search at one of the big search engines. The reader is looking for something specific and theyve just found your article. If your article has managed to capture their interest and they actually click a link in your resource box, they are that much more likely to be interested in anything you might suggest for them to buy. Theyll also spend more time reading about the benefits and advantages of what you are selling so the bounce rate for article traffic is significantly lower than that social network traffic.

Sure, it often takes longer to see significant traffic from article marketing, but since that traffic also converts to paying customers at much higher rates than social network traffic, you need much less of it to fatten your wallet.

So stick to article marketing and leave the social network link baiting to the Flickrites and Youtubers. If you want to make money, slow and steady article writing wins the race.

It can easily drive quality traffic to your website, help you position yourself as a key person in your chosen industry, and increase your sales potential and online profits in no time.

Here are the latest 5 challenging steps to energize your article marketing:

1. Optimize your content. Learn how to please various search engines so they will properly index your articles. This can be done by identifying the keywords that play crucial roles in your target niche and using them all throughout your content. You must also be familiar with appropriate keyword density so you will not be tagged as a keyword abuser or spammer.

2. Your articles must be easy to understand. Don't leave your readers puzzled or wondering what you are trying to get across after they have read your articles. They must be able to understand your ideas by just reading your articles once so you will not waste their time. Avoid using offbeat acronyms or unfamiliar terms all throughout your content. Instead, stick with simple terms that are usually being used by your readers so they can easily understand your message.

3. Make each word work for you. Make sure that all the words you use in your content can help you educate your readers or make them understand your points. If any of the words do not serve this purpose, they are considered fillers and they must be removed from your articles to make them concise and direct to the point.

4. Use anchor texts on your resource box. Based on researches and various studies, people online respond better to anchor texts compare to absolute URLs because they are usually based on relevant keywords that readers can easily identify with. Take advantage of this and use up to two anchor texts on your resource box to easily increase your conversion rate.

5. Insert a powerful call to action on your resource box. Direct your readers to act on your favor by learning the art of persuasion. Do you want them to visit your website, sign-up on your email marketing list, or fill-up a survey for you? Words like "wanna", "sorta", "meany", etc. must not have a room on your articles. Instead, stick with words that are deemed professional and appropriate for content writing.

Article Marketing Secrets - Writing to Earn

Do you have the fervor for writing? Do you want to get paid for doing something that you love to do? Your passion for writing can actually be used to your advantage in the so-called article marketing strategy in advertising your business.

Choose an interesting topic that is related to your respective business, research about it and write a resourceful article about your researched topic. Focus on popular subjects that you very well know people will be looking for in the Internet. And, include highly ranked keywords and Meta tags that will increase the possibility of having your article (as well as your website) included in the top list of search engine results.

Furthermore, here are some more specific secrets that will help you maximize your writing skill in bringing good fortune and profit to you and your business.

1. Write to only one person.

Your article should definitely target a pretty large number of readers. However, when you are writing your article, try to picture only one person whom you will address your article to. This makes your article more amiable, thereby keeping the attention and interest of your readers.

2. Make use of white spaces.

White spaces in an article can actually be beneficial by making your work appear more professional and a lot easier to read.

Too lengthy paragraphs may seem boring and uninteresting, especially for skim readers.

3. Proofread your articles.

Check your articles for any misspelled words and other grammatical errors.

Go over and read out loud your article at least twice to ensure that it is free of any inappropriately used words or syntax.

4. Make the most of constructive criticisms.

Ask what others have to honestly say or comment about your articles, accepting their feedbacks, and using them constructively can help you become a better writer.

Continue to do well on areas where you have received compliments and improve on your weak points. And if there is a need for you to change your writing style, do not be afraid to so. Even the most negative criticisms or feedbacks can be beneficial to you if you see them in a constructive way.

5. Try writing about different things.

There may be times that you feel like you can only write articles about a certain topic. This is just normal. However, this must not hinder you from trying other writing styles and tackling about different subjects that may be entirely new to you. Doing so will help develop your writing skills.

6. Never forget your resource box.

You may submit your articles in your affiliate article directories, ezines, and other online publishers. In these cases, you must always include a resource box in your articles, which must contain your site?s URL address.

This link will help redirect your affiliates? Subscribers and guests to your business site, and hopefully make them interested enough to buy the products or services that you are offering.

Articles are effective and convenient marketing tools in the Cyber world today. And you should not be afraid to use your writing skills in earning and making your business a big success.

21st Century Copywriting - Website Marketing Strategies to Engage Your Clients

The new buzzword these days is "engagement marketing," which has replaced old-style "interruption marketing." Engagement marketing creates interactions and deepens relationships with your clients. Interruption marketing breaks into your client's life the way television commercials break into our programs.

When we engage with clients, they welcome us. When we interrupt them, they try to shut us out. And technology makes it easy to make unwanted sales pitches disappear.

Engagement marketing allows you to write long copy. In fact, it demands long copy. You need to connect with your customers They want more than a quick touch and go.

So how you do create long messages that engage your visitors and help them develop relationships?

1. Create a friendly conversation.

Let's face it: your website visitors want to connect you. They are sitting all alone with their computers and they want to feel somebody cares enough to talk to them. Reading pages and pages of copy should feel like getting a letter from a good friend.

Short copy (and short-short ezines) comes across more like a message left on an answering machine -- not a meaningful dialog.

Ever had a phone conversation with a friend or even a business relationship when you just enjoyed talking?

You were in no hurry to hang up. You were entertained. You felt affirmed. When readers feel this way, they will stay tuned all the way to the bottom of the page.

2. Maintain suspense.

Whether you're writing website copy or murder mysteries, keep the readers wondering what happens next. Each sentence should motivate the reader to move to the next sentence...and the next paragraph...and the next page, chapter and even book.

I am not sure who first applied the term "bucket brigade" to copy. But here is the idea.

Before fire departments got organized, volunteers would fight fires by lining up and passing buckets of water from the nearest well to whatever was burning. Another line would pass empty buckets back for refills. Buckets moved from hand to hand fast, with no stops.

So think of each idea as a bucket you want to pass along, from one sentence to the next. Motivate the reader: "Keep going! Urgent! You need to reach the end before anything else happens!"

3. Ask, "Who is reading?" rather than "How long?"

Your target market really wants to learn what you have to say. They realize they'll learn from you, even if you're overtly making a sales pitch. So they keep reading....and reading.

What is your favorite personal interest? Dogs? Cats? Hiking? Basketball? Soccer? Music? Art? Real estate?

When you're passionate, you cannot learn enough. You hope the article, book or talk will go on forever. And if you have targeted right, your readers will feel the same way.

4. Encourage your readers to talk back to you.

Marketing researchers know: When we read any message, we tend to talk back! Sometimes we speak aloud (and even throw a magazine across a room (doesn't work with a computer).

But most often we engage in what psychologists call "counter-arguments." For example, you read, "This technique will transform your cat into an obedient pet who comes when called."

You think, "No way!" or, "You must be kidding."

We also affirm what we read.

"That's a great idea!" "That sounds like something I would like to do."

And (especially if we're contemplating a big-ticket item) we're seeking more and more reasons to justify our buying decision.

So...you're probably ahead of me: Longer copy means more opportunities to say, "Yes, it's for me!"

5. Crawl out on the edge.

What television shows become mega-hits? You got it: the big HBO and Showtime series that go outside the networking programming box.

They're more like indie films than television and they attract audiences of millions. Just try to rent a DVD of past seasons: you get on a waiting list.

Marketing works the same way.

Whenever I take a risk with an edgy ezine article, a few readers unsubscribe and some even send a grumpy emails. But I always get a few e-book orders. That's when I get requests for Diagnostic sessions, too.

When I write reviews for amazon.com, I just say what's on my mind. And I get some of my best clients and subscribers.

One reader even wrote, "Do they call you Cantankerous Cathy? You never say anything nice!" But she signed up for my ezine and attended three teleclasses.

Edgy means just strong enough to resonate with your own target market. Some famous copywriters use strong, colorful language. My audience tends to prefer G-rated expressions. Adapt your edginess to your audience and your own style.

Bottom line: As long as you hook the reader, maintain suspense and tell a good story, your message can be as long as you want it to be. Keep doing this and you'll genuinely engage your audience -- the first step to turn them into clients in today's market.

1. Submit quality articles. This is the key to succeed in this marketing technique.
